Ok I dont even play console but ive been watching AceMercsPro on twitch for the last 4 hours and he is only in the second zone for lorebooks. On PC with the addons I can get all lore books in 6hours or so............................THIS ALONG WITH SKYSHARDS IS THE DUMBEST THING IN THE WORLD. Help out console plebs and incorp skyshard locations and lorebook locations into the __________________ Game.

idk who to list here via devs or employees so im gonna tag all that I know of. @ZOS_MichaelM @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_GaryA @ZOS_BillE

As a PC player who has the privilege of addons just knowing console plebs have to hunt this *** down like a rare motif in the many guild stores we have in game or a pug trying to find a full group to do a random normal trial this is a QOL change that should have happened a long time ago.

That makes it sound like console players are somehow Better than PC players because they don’t have a massive positive handicap of all those addons that do everything but press the buttons for you... macros does that part.

Hmm.. well, who knows. Probably just my imagination.

    Don’t call it a add-on.

This should be implanted into the game like damage numbers and text chat was.

I can understand why we DON'T have the locations discovered first time through... it would be very un-Elder Scrolls to not have to search for things. However, I do wish that when we discover Lorebooks/skyshards once, those locations could be revealed for our alts. All of my alts are lacking in the skill point department because it's such a pain to play the game with my laptop open on the coffee table, leaning forward all the time to find the location of the next skyshard. And don't get me started on Mages Guild...

    Ok I play on console
There is an app for iOS that tracks everything for you
Enter your build name tag it, view all game maps on your phone all locations for everything on there surveys treasure maps sky shards lore books wrothgar premier glories thieves guild loot, then just double tap the symbol on the map when you have collected it and it disappears from view,

Also every set, Every alchemical combination is in there, plus you can track all your progress for motifs, research, and even mount training with notifications on your phone when rider training is ready again,

Now I don't think I can plug the name of 'the ESO app' on here as it is third party but I'm sure if you look at this paragraph hard enough you should be able to find it no problem, the best £1.99 I have ever spent on anything ever!
Thea closest to a tracker mod I think we will ever get

    @strangeradnd

I understand where you are coming from, the sense of accomplishment knowing you found everything for your self.

But on your eighth character where you already kinda remember where everything is but need a manageable way to track what you need to get again having a mod or a hud is just too good not to have,

Personally I think it would be good to have an option to display if you have already found on another character.

For reference I mainly Pvp and accomplishing Pve stuffs doesn't concern me so much, reducing the time I spend in pve land does concern me.

I have no objections to it, I just want to be sure that there is an option to turn it off. I actually like the leveling and searching more than the end game content in most cases.

I will also say I rarely do PvP so it doesn't apply to my normal line of thought and I can understand wanting to be able to gloss over the PvE if it isn't what you want to be doing.

A lot of the reason why a lot of people don’t have Meteor, is because a lot of people refuse to be bothered hunting down all of those lorebooks. It’s sad really. I myself can’t even stand to get Meteor on all of my magicka toons, as I get burned out extremely fast from shifting from Google to ESO. It’s pathetic.

As for the guild trader system on console? Beyond horrific. To track down a single motif can take days or weeks. Literally days or weeks for a single motif. That’s insanity. A perfect example of this would be me recently searching for the Apostle “Chests” motif. 3 damn days of nonstop hunting and going from trader to trader. And even then, that wasn’t enough. It took me hiring numerous people to search for me as well, and people knowing people for me to finally get my hands on it. Which is a damn shame. And I’d be willing to bet that if the text chat feature wasn’t added, I’d still probably be hunting for it to this very day.

So I've heard various discussions on why we can't have add-ons on console. Some based on Sony/Microsoft barring people from altering their systems, ZoS doesn't want add-ons, but can't stop PC users from inserting their own code based on how PCs vs Consoles work, etc, etc, and none of which really hold any water.

I'm technologically illiterate and wouldn't know C++ from a C-Section, but I do know one thing. You can have add-ons on console. How do I know this? I bought Fallout 4 when the Game of the Year Edition was finally released last year. What do I see in the base game UI when I first boot it up? A menu key to access add-ons! Criminy, this is even a Bethesda game and it can have add-ons!

So what's the excuse now? Why can't we have add-ons for ESO?

That being said, I don't use add-ons in Fallout 4 because I want to run through it, at least initially, on my own wits and fortitude, without some virtual crutch helping me along. But in ESO, I think after the novelty of my first run through (first character) I would be amenable to utilizing said add-ons to reduce the tedium of the repeatable activities.

If add-ons were implemented across the board in ESO (for PC and Console users), I would like them to receive the same treatment as Fallout 4. If you use add-ons, all achievements should be disabled. I honestly feel it should be this way on PC as it is. You want to use add-ons, which are basically cheats - let's not kid ourselves here -, then you shouldn't be rewarded with the same achievements as the players who either: a.) have access to the add-ons but choose not to use them, or b.) don't have access to them at all (console).

I think it's more fun to find skyshards based on their clues in the journal. As for lorebooks, I like the feeling of wandering around and finding that blue glow and going "Ooooh, lorebook!" instead of going to a spot where I know it is and just picking it up.

It would be very nice to have the option. Or maybe when you get close to a lorebook/skyshard, it appears on your compass similar to undiscovered locations.

Anything to not make it such a horrendous grind via looking at in-game maps I pull up on my laptop.

Just so you all know I was proposing it being put into base game hint QOL change. Also as someone said the ability to turn it on and off would be nice for the hardcore skyrim players who like the immersion and ERP and ect..

Lorebooks + skyshard locations would be nice, but I would rather have QoL improvements to the console UI. It is so clunky and tedious to use. Even a simple text search would go a long way when finding gear in our inventory or at guild traders - this should already be in the base game tbh.

    Wrong battle to be honest.

for skyshards, lorebooks and such all you need is a site like http://teso.mmorpg-life.com/skyshards/ and.... job done.

QOL changes to fight for should be things that are not easily resolved by google searches.
    • Decent quality damage parser
    • Ability to mass craft in menus
    • Guild store search/filter feature (on text)
    that kind of thing

for PvP two features that I'd love are
    • to be able to share map markers
    • the ability for crown to be able to mute the rest of the voice channel for five or ten seconds when needed

If such things were added to console it would mean it would be default to PC too.

However, it begs the real questions:

-Why are those types of tools allowed in the first place?
-If the company offered it, wouldn't it make more sent to remove the requirement to gather them?

I believe that is the thought process these things should go through, because I'm not saying people wouldn't like help as I played both PC and xbox but in the other direction....the reasons seem to be more of interest to the topic.

Out of all the add-ons, the one I miss the most is a way to save gear sets/skill combos. As a tank, the most frustrating part of some trials is to say "hold on for a few minutes while I change my gear to tank the axes/Ozara's adds/etc"... not to mention swapping from trial tank setup to overland PvE setup, or to go into PvP.

ZOS: This could work just like the outfit system: have a menu above "Inventory" and "Skills" (just like outfits), but let me save gear and skills instead.

Yep. Welcome to the joy of playing on consoles. Yes can look up on internet - do so love going from map on phone/laptop to game, desperately trying to work out where the damn book is from the large icon slapped on top of the generic map. And surveys! Also such fun.
