Leveling a stam sorc and have a 160 set of automation I want to get the most out of so thinking of 2hand and duel wield but am wondering if the duel wield bleed is considered physical damage?

Based on the things CP can improve, it isn't elemental or magical, so I would guess it's physical. Easy to test, though.

As far as I know it´s considered physical damage. I even think it´s written on every tooltip that you´ll "bleed X amount of physical damage of Y seconds".

Physical (So weapon damage and/or stamina scaled), it is damage over time so thaumaturge can also help increasing it's power.

Bleed is Physical DoT that ignores resistances and was on the Dreadnaught that killed your father.

Bleed damage is really bad if you're a vampire.

Easy to tell if have an add-on with scrolling damage...blue is magicka, yellow is physical, green is healing, red is incoming damage. But yes, bleeding and poison are both physical.

Bleed is physical, poison is poison.

    There's eight damage types, roughly.

Magic, Fire, Cold, Lightning, Oblivion, Physical, Disease, and Poison. Poison deals poison damage, also alchemical poisons deal poison damage.

That said, the CP that increase your resist to physical also increase your poison and disease resist. Similarly, the CP that increases your outgoing damage will buff your Physical, Disease, and Poison, but if you're looking at resist enchants, or things like the automaton set, then you need to worry about the type.

If you go by the tooltip, yeah, Automaton should increase bleed damage. I'm not sure if it actually does, however. Also, Blooddrinker, but that's kinda obvious.

Why are you worried about bleed damage? Everyone knows that with the double-harvest node event going on right now....

fair enough...but will poison scale off physical or magicka damage modifier? fire etc, scales off magicka obviously.

Old testing thread I remembered, but Automaton should still be one of the best sets to use for bleed damage.

It depends on the ability causing it. Most poison damage is caused by stamina abilities, so in those cases it would be weapon damage, but if it's an ultimate, it will scale off whichever is higher, Spell Damage + Max Magicka, or Weapon Damage + Max Stamina.

In the case of alchemical poisons, those will scale with your CP, and any damage modifying effects like Berserk, but won't scale with either your weapon or spell damage.

Bleed is a special type of physical damage over time. However physical damage over time is not necessarily bleeding, so blood drinker might won't work unless it is actually called bleeding.
