Can't seem to get mine to come on, it used to work but now none of the buttons activate it so my question is there a way of turning it on and off in settings I can't seem to find one anywhere

On PS4 it should be an arrow button (I think right arrow?) which toggles the death recap on or off. I'm not sure if there is a menu setting for it.PS4 NA Server CP 630+
