2 Spawn of Mephala (Procs on Heavy Attack):
1pc: Adds 1096 Max Stamina
2pc: Heavy Attack creates a web for 10 seconds that reduces movement speed of enemies inside by 50% and deals 1096 poison damage per second. 10 second cooldown.

5 Sheer Venom (Procs on Execute):
2pc: Adds 129 Weapon Damage
3pc: Adds 129 Weapon Damage
4pc: Adds 1096 Max Stamina
5pc: Dealing Damage with an Execute ability deals 8428 poison damage over 6 seconds.
6 second Cooldown.

5 Viper's Sting (Procs on Melee Damage):
2pc: Adds 833 Weapon Crit
3pc: Adds 1096 Max Stamina
4pc: Adds 833 Weapon Crit
5pc: Dealing Damage with a Melee attack deals 6400 Poison Damage over 4 seconds.
4 second cooldown.

vMA/Master's Bow.

Dual Wield Axes: (Bleed + Proc Viper's)
Venomous Claw
Noxious Breath
Whirling Blades/Steel Tornado (Proc Sheer Venom)
Rending Slashes
Deadly Cloak

Bow:
Igneous Weapons
Green Dragon Blood/Vigor
Endless Hail
Acid Spray
Poison Injection (Proc Sheer Venom)

With enough CP in Mighty, Thaumaturge + DK's World in Ruin passive, Mephala's should do ~40% more damage.
Mighty/Thaumaturge CP should also affect Venom, Viper's and other DoTs.

Since Viper's will run front bar only the bonuses won't be as high as Jewellery only comes in purple/blue quality.
Also only running front bar because only melee attacks will proc it. Whereas Sheer Venom can be procced on both bars.

5pc of Sheer Venom on the body alleviates the hassle of running it back bar. (Only the 2nd tick of Poison Injection procs Sheer Venom which slows rotations).

Don't you know, DKs in general are already dead, someone at ZOS do not like DKs at all and have been nerfing them from quite a few patches.

The setup that you have setup will work nicely on all most all stamina characters with the class skills being the exception. Id DKs were viable, Venom Claw and Noxious Breath would have been amazing with Swamp Raider.

Test your setup on target dummies with different classes and see which one feels most comfortable or immersive, good luck OP.

Stam dk is far from dead, magdk is the one that's been taking all the hits.

    @OP:

I wouldnt use sheer venom, it only procs on execute and the only execute you have is either steel tornado or poison injection. Using up a 5 piece set for something that only matters in the last few seconds of a boss fight is a bad choice IMO.

Instead, I would try for 5pc morag tong. If you're willing to give up viper's sting, put 5 piece swamp raider there. I had planned a build like this some time ago using bow/bow, though it could work with bow/dw as well (the bow/bow setup used swamp raider on the back bar and morag tong on the front bar). 2pc mephala is fine.

Swamp raider adds 400 weapon and spell damage to all poison and disease abilities, which would include poison injection, acid spray, lethal arrow, venemous claw, noxious breath, and corrosive armor (does not apply to procs though). Morag tong increases all poison damage taken by the target by 10%, from yourself as well as other players, and works for procs, poison enchants, and alchemical poisons on your weapons.

Use Molten Armaments instead of Igneous Weapons . Use Rearming Trap instead of Dragon Blood . Use Flames of Oblivion instead of Acid Spray . Now this is somewhat decent . Not top notch DPS but still decent .

EDIT : Can replace Flames of Oblivion for Vigor if needed .

@Lynx7386 sorry my mistake. Sheer Venom procs when you deal damage with an Execute Ability. So basically every time Poison Injection ticks but not the initial hit. Or every time I use steel tornado. And Poison Injection ticks for 10 seconds. Which means every time I reapply it should proc Sheer Venom immediately after the cooldown just through DoT ticks.

It's basically a free DoT proccing off an ability I would run anyway. However it might be worth dropping Viper's for Morag Tong.

I was gonna say where do I get major Brutality from but considering that I only need one execute to proc Sheer Venom and Poison Injection ticks can proc while I'm dual weilding... would you recommend also dropping Steel Tornado for Shrouded Dagger/Flying Blade?

Does it really proc even when you're not "executing"? If yes it would be awesome.

@Seraphayel I will need to test it. But the tooltip reads very clearly you only need to deal damage with an execute ability. You do not need to deal increased damage from execute.

"When you deal damage with an Execute ability you infect the enemy, dealing (x) (10556 for me) Poison Damage over 6 seconds. This effect can occur every 6 seconds"

Though that's using blue Sheer Venom as a reference.

    Using some rough estimates...

Sheer Venom and Viper's Sting should be doing ~2k damage each, every second. Plus Mephala's ~1.5k tick every second.

If I can perfect a rotation and maybe earn some more CP it could be an almost 100% uptime 5.5k DPS boost.

I know that but you can't really trust tooltips because ZOS thinking is very... interesting when it comes to things like that. You're right, the tooltip is very clear but I'm not sure if the game mechanic is as clear as the tooltip states.

I like when people try something new. +1 awesome from me ;). This poison DK build is already proven potent enough even for trials but you need to have other DKs with you for the full power unleash. Don't worry, it's strong enough for dungeons, too.

There is another poison skill - Silk Shadow (Undaunted). It's hit and miss, and it's probably not worth slotting in your case, but if you can add it, why not? I personally use it (but I am Nightblade) and you can read our experience with it here:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/4912617

Let see gear. I won't comment Spawn of Mephala. It should stay as Monster set.

Sheer Venom - disgustingly OP set in PvP with proper setup. It's pretty lackluster in PvE. If you have it farmed, save it for PvP if you even play it.
Viper's Sting - nice set. You can't go wrong with it as it always trigger on melee damage.
Swamp Raider - no other set can boost poison damage like this one. Problem?
***When you deal damage with a Magicka ability...*** So if you don't add magicka damage skill in rotation every 10 sec, it's useless. I just don't see how is possible to slot it.
The Morag Tong - no DK poison build can go without it. This is a must set. It's cheap at guild traders, so no worry. It's already explained how does it works. It's a must!

Use ESO Build Editor to theorycraft and find proper skills.
    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildEditor

If you don't want to go full poison, and you still want nice process go with:
    2x Spawn of Mephala + 5x Morag Tong + 5x Unfathomable Darkness

You have so many poison DoTs which are all boosted by Morag Tong and because you use so many DoTs, crows are practically constantly up. They are pets and they crit because of it. It's both really potent and fun build.

Again, theorycraft in Build Editor to create build for your personal use and preferences.

The cowardly Wood Elves are best noted for their unwillingness to engage in a face-to-face attack; a Bosmer will strike at you from every side except the front. You won't cross swords with a Bosmer, but you might catch an arrow in the throat. Be wary in forests and jungles, and watch your back.

So gave this build a try in PTS . Got really bad DPS (little over 30k on a 6 million dummy) because all the proc sets do so little damage due to not being able to crit . With a realistic raid setup (no penetration , just noxious breath ) Viper and Mephala did close 1k DPS while Sheer Venom did around 600 . There are sets that are not proc but gives 2-3k just with raw damage bonus . So yeah . Idea is good and the build is decent but as long as procs can't crit , you won't get high DPS with this build .

Note : I tried out Vicious Ophidian instead of Sheer Venom and DPS increased by 1.5k instantly . Just to give you an example about raw stat sets being better .

If procs were able to crit like they used to do , these numbers would be so much different .

Keep in mind that these numbers would also go up at least 2k due to me testing in PTS with 300+ ping ^^

30k DPS is bad with niche build?...

We all know what BiS gear for Dragonknight is - same as for other stamina classes (outside Sorcerer) :).

OP want themed and respectable build and there is nothing wrong with it.

And you have proven what I typed - Sheer Venom is PvP set where is disgustingly OP in proper combo and bad in PvE (unless you go hybrid route in PvE).

The Morag Tong is a must for any serious poison DK build. There is no substitute.

One other option could be to run a two-hand axe over DW. Your execute then works at 50%, so greater uptime for sheer venom. Could still do sheer venom and swamp raider (slotting flames of oblivion in your rotation covers your Magicka ability, and it gives you major savagery). Viper I think you can toss; the cooldown nerf on it sorta pushed it back in the muck. You couldn’t run a monster set full if both sets used, but can use a one piece Veli (weapon dmg), or Storm (stamina regen), etc.).
Other option is running no monster set, both 5 pieces, and then an Asylum battle axe for crazy ulti gen. Dropping standard that much more often should make up for the monster set dmg as your dots will be additionally buffed 15%).

Morag only in groups of 2 or more stam dk’s. Solo the damage is nowhere near as viable as other 5 sets.
DO. NOT. WIPE. (in game OR out!)

Sheer venom will proc on the first DoT tick of poison injection which comes 2 seconds after the initial hit. It will not re-proc again on later poison inject ticks you will have to cast it again after 6 seconds
