Magicka Nightblade [PVE] gear setup question

Since the release of Clockwork City the Mechanical Acuity set has been very strong on NBs due to their increased crit dmg passive.

I currently dont have Master Architect or vMA staves so I wanted to make a build with relative easy to obtain gear.
Acuity is a proc set so doesnt need to be slotted on both bars which opens the opportunity for a strong monster set like Zaan.

My idea was to run 2x Zaan, 5x BSW and 5x Acuity.
I know the spell crit boni on Zaan and BSW are useless during the Acuity proc so their effect is reduced by roughly 28% ( 5s duration / 18 cooldown).

My skillbar setup:

Front bar (fire staff)
Twisting Path, Impale, Funnel, Merciless, Inner Light - Elemental Rage

Back bar (fire staff)
Blockade of Fire, Crippling, Harness, Siphoning, Inner Light - Soul Harvest

Does it matter on which bars Acuity and BSW are active?
And is it worth going with a nirnhoned staff on the back bar?

For fights where high AoE dmg is needed not having a lightning staff on the back bar will be a big disadvantage.
What would be the best set to run instead of BSW?

Good luck getting a fire staff for bsw. I have ran the dungeon at least 100 times and only had lla lightning staff drop for me.

atm i rum 2 combinations...

1. bsw with aucity + kena/domihaus if I have to stay ranged or

2. master architect with aucity + kena/domihaus.

Without vMA staves I would slot spellweave willpower grothdarr and go into vMA to farm them.

Now my 2 cents.

Mechanical Acuity is the latest meta apex fallacy set.
If you are not in the top of the playerbase who chase leaderboards in highly organized and competitive guilds, this set is going to be detrimental.
Even our beloved public meta and content ESO creators always warn to suit yourself and situation. If you just blindly slap "BiS" gear without considering bigger picture, you willingly criple yourself.

Combo like this works very well:
5x Burning Spellweave + 5x Law of Julianos* + 1x Molag Kena*
*or 4x Julianos + 2x Monster set of personal choice

But again, what content with who?

I have had the fire staff in my bank from ages ago so thats not a problem.

Lol ikr, I have pretty much given up running to find a bsw flame staff. It turned into a joke the run I got 2 Lightning staffs and a resto in the same run.

Whats sets are active on your front and back bar?
And do you run nirnhoned or infused on the back bar?

I mainly run vet dungeons with guild mates so not top tier highly optimized groups or anything.
Most tanks and healers run Warhorn so I figured that Acuity could be useful.

The idea of the build came from trying to use two 5pc boni with Zaan because both BSW and Acuity can be procced of one bar.

Maybe its better just run BSW with Julianos until I have Master Architect and the vMA staff.
Would you recommend going dual fire staves with BSW and Julianos?

You want the acuity proc timed with the highest burst part of your rotation, which is while DoTs are ticking, assassins will bow procs, and funnel are all going. You wouldn't want to waste an acuity proc while refreshing DoTs. So I would recommend acuity front bar, spellweave back.

With your skill bars, it looks like you'll be going to the back bar every 8s. In this case infused with a spell damage glyph would be best for the back bar staff. Then you will get the spell damage every 8s. With Nirnhoned you will only get the 5s of additional spell damage every other rotation, or every 16s due to the 10s cooldown.

Magsorc is still easiest, having pets take aggro cannot be underdstimated.

Magsorc is still easiest, having pets take aggro cannot be underdstimated.

I always found vMA to be a lot easier on magblade than on magsorc.
