Why not access to all skills instead of 1 morph? make multiple same abilities Unique-Slotted

With the accessibility of more skill points added to the game as we progress, can we change the system on skills later down the line to instead of picking out a morph of each ability, why not give us access to both morphs provided we spent a skill point into them. You can make them Unique-Slotted so you can't have the different variants of the same ability on the same action bar. You would still need to spend a skill point in each morphed version so a total of 3 skill points would be consumed if you want both morphs available for that ability.

An example would be Arrow Spray takes 1 skill point, I can spend a second skill point to get Bombard and have it in my front bar. If I want I can spend a third skill point and get Acid Spray adding it to my back bar even though I already picked up Bombard. The game will prevent me from adding both Bombard and Acid Spray to the same action bar as they are Unique-Slotted by ability so I can have one or the other, but not both on the same bar.

Why not just have 5 skills in the game? The answer is because that is not the way ZOS wants their game.

Not a bad idea, I could definitely see the use in it for some classes.

Problem would come in with over time effects stacking. For example a templar stacking both ritual of retribution and purifying ritual in the same area, or a sorceror stacking both versions of lightning (liquid lightning and the other). Or wall of elements even.

Basically it would skyrocket damage for just about everyone because of stacking dot effects, and would throw the whole balance of the game out of whack. The only way it would work is if only one version of an ability can be slotted on any skill bar at a time (so you cant use two versions of the same ability at once, even on front/back bar split), which would really just mean not having to go respec every time you wanted the other morph.

Yeah, you could only have one morph available to you at a time or it would throw the game out of whack. Also, ZoS purposefully makes respeccing skills a pain in the butt. They have to put a bunch of gold-sinks in the game to make the economy stay afloat. Respeccing skills is one of them

I think it's more likely they do it to sell crown store respec scrolls.
