A big thank you!!!!!!!

Ok so most of you don't know me but I've been playing on console for about 2 years now.

First of all I'd like to say that this game has helped me so much with my social anxiety. I know this thread might not be original or game based but I would like to thank all of the lovely people I've met through the years both through the forums and in game.

I've been diagnosed with clinical depression since I was 13 and have thought about hurting in myself many times in those years.

It wasn't until I reached the ripe old age of 27 where I found my place.... In Tamriel, a place where people don't judge you when you are having a bad day. A place where you can be who you want to be when society says "no, that's not ok". I've never ever been part of a greater group of people and I would like to thank you all both on the forums and in game players I've met for letting me know that I do have a voice and that my opinion counts.

Thank you everyone for standing up for those who are to afraid to stand up for themselves.

That's awesome that you found a place to be yourself! Hope it creates many opportunities to move into your real life.

Don't fear the horrid eyes of the normies..for you are YOU and there are MANY people looking for someone like YOU out there in the world..friends and great times await you.

The search can be hard..but with practice..you can filter out the boring judgemental normal people and seek iut those ready for adventure. Friends....good..real..deep..friends is worth the search.

Glad you are having a great time. But keep working on you. Being old enough to Have been through the life cycle of of several of these games, one day you will wake up and everything you liked and everyone you enjoyed will no longer be in the game. And then you will need yourself.

So enjoy the game and enjoy the friends you make here. But most of all work on enjoying yourself.

One day this game like many others mmo will be over. You have to solve the problems inside of your head by yourself and alone, without anything to hang, because if one day that thing fails then you will find yourself again in the same bad situation.

You have to became strong from inside and don’t let the bad opinions and the judge of the people go through. All persons have the same insecurities even if they show the opposite, the difference is how strong and mature you are to deal with them before they consume you.

The best thing is to learn to be self-sufficient without need anything else. That’s the first step.

The best thing is to learn to be autosuficient by yourself without need anything else. That’s the first step.

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment of this post, I do struggle with the phrasing used.

I too suffer from depression, anxiety and PTSD, and immerse myself in the game at every opportunity. To use my illness as an example, I am not "solving the problems inside of my head" alone. There are so many options available to someone with mental health issues that you don't have to be alone at all. I use several tools, (some which took a number of years to embrace), and the support of professionals, friends, family and my employer to treat my "bad situation".

It takes times, patience, talking, exercise and host of other elements to be "auto sufficient by yourself" and sometimes it will never occur. The first step is to understand your situation and then be open to help if it is available - at least in my personal experience.

As I said, I do understand the sentiment of the post, and to the original poster I wish you every luck in life.

You must be fun at parties. Clinical depression is not an issue of weakness or a lack of maturity any more than cancer is.

OP, I'm glad for you, and hope you keep having a great time in ESO.

Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of of!

That's like saying be ashamed because you have cancer!

    Agreed, and likewise!

But then, many of us who have difficulties IRL enjoy virtual worlds where things are not -quite- as difficult for us. And through it, help us get a bit better in less virtual settings as well!

Another big "Thank You" to the powers that be for all our virtual spaces from another slightly broken soul here!

As somebody in a very similar situation to yourself I agree that this game can and has been very beneficial to my own anxieties - especially when I'm joining in on my friend's ESO Livestreams, I'm able to be more a lot more socially interactive than I usually am IRL away from ESO.

Long may it continue for you.
