Heavy Hunding's vs. 7th Legion — Dragon Bones

With the nerf to the 5pc bonus of 7th Legion (the proc now has a 2s internal cooldown), the healing output of the set has been greatly reduced. Seeing as the set's 1-4pc bonuses aren't all that great (the 129 health regen is largely a waste), has heavy Hunding's become a viable alternative?

When you equivalate the extra 1096 stam that Hunding's provides, it ends up providing only about ~225 wep dmg less than a proc'd 7th. But with more crit, and no downtime.

That said, I haven't parsed the uptime of 7th yet, and would like to hear from anyone who's tried it since the update. I'm a heavy Stamblade primarily interested in duels and BGs (smallscale in general).

Fury and Truth are going to be better options if you're looking for weapon damage sets that come in heavy IMO

@arkansas_ESO I mostly play in BGs and Sotha Sil, and neither of those sets work very well in a no-CP environment. I'd be open to suggestions for other sets besides those, though!

I am back in fury this patch, works better than both of those sets.

Sometimes I combine it with seventh legion for even more weapon damage, but I'm still unhappy about how seventh performs after the nerf, and wearing 2 sets that proc from getting hit, leaves me with no weapon damage when I'm not focused. As a result Im considering alternative sets.

How did losing the heal from 7th effect your sustain needs when going back to fury?

I do have better heals on fury now, with the very high uptime on weapon damage, I am always getting high vigor ticks, also sitting at %30 crit in heavy armor also helps me big time. so there is seriously no reason to pick seventh over fury now, as long as I'm getting hit by people, oh and trust me, I do have a lot of haters, not getting hit isn't even an option for me.

About the sustain, It depends. I sometimes run with BS+fury+agility+maelstrom SnB, but having reliable heavy attacks is damn hard while everyone is dodge rolling, blocking etc which makes me go for fury+seventh front bar, and 2h asylum axe as back bar.
so when I run with fury+seventh I do use the robust seventh ring, and slap a regen glyph on it, and use the lava food which has like 450 stam regen. seems to do the trick.

No...He wants duels and BGs.. so for duels, he's a nightblade, which'll mean he'll be resetting his Fury set pretty often and unable to use the full wep dmg... and the armor of truth set requires the CP offbalance skill, which does not work in BGs because BGs are no cp.

It still has great uptime. THe heals are obviously not coming in as much, but the wep dmg is still pretty reliable.

we can all agree on that. even when seventh isn't procced, you still don't lose much damage compared to hundings.

As a five piece bonus, it’s worth less than two jewelry glyphs.

Better / more efficient to get bone pirate and run an extra two dmg glyph.

Btw are you on PC NA? I’m trying to put chars names with posters but I don’t remember yours.

TheYKcid im assuming you're talking about on a stamblade? If you're gonna go heavy go with mechanical acuity and save your ult + relentless for the proc = gg. Nonetheless for the original post I would go heavy hundings.

He's from EU apparently, but I have no clue lol. You might be confusing him with @Ragnaroek93 who's also from EU and he's actually a well known and experienced stamina nightblade.

Just an above average stamDK main, nothing too special about me really.
And I'm literally here to just spam ''buff stamDk'' threads untill ZOS gets tired of reading it.

Hundings is still a dam good set. A good player with either hundings or seventh, you will not notice a difference. I will say in non CP, and I have a hundings set and a seventh set, that shacklebreaker does out preform them both, just cause of the max stats and Regen. Cheers.

    No.

    Just... no.

You’d have to be pretty terrible to not notice a difference of ~324 weapon damage.
