There are just a 3 things ZOS need to change in this game to solve bots problem:

    1)Allow botting
    2)Make every zone pvp zone
3)Make every or most items(including gears) lootable from players corpses.

If theese changes will be added in game, bots still will be botting, but botters will be forced to protect their territory with sword and magic.

    Gah!

    No no nononononononono thank you.

And no that doesn't mean I support bots, just that those are too extreme.

They ruin the economy by flooding markets. Dwax would be worth even more without bots.

Gold would have a higher value..as itbis..because these bots sell gold..it's basically worthless

    They cause server lag

The people who bot are also more likely to be finding and explotting dupes

Botting is cheat8ng plain and simple...when zos came down hard on those exploiters..people cheered..yet bots exploit..cheat..and cause a Ruckus yet nothing done

So bots get to cheat? Yet we don't?

They put effort into getting rid of bots. Unfortunately it's seems that it is less than the botters. There is real big money in it for many of the botters. Enough that it pays to continually make new accounts. Enough that there are companies that sell gold on the web. Not just individuals, but companies. Actual businesses that exist to exploit another company's business.

They are parasites and you just have to keep killing them off over and over and over again.

They mess up the market which affects everyone

Because they gain an unfair advantage in the game, push newbies out of grind spots, wreck the in-game economy, and reward cheating.

Why are you defending people who cheat?

Well said. I’m sick of the people defending (and ultimately buying from) botters/cheaters.

I guess in a way bots are the reason I rather money farm than worry about certain things. Far easier and quicker just to money farm and buy what you want than actually farm a spot. This system seems kinda flawed imo. It should promote exploration, not greed.

hey that addon is amazing! :) i had a lot of trouble recently to track hundreds of cheaters in a farming train, took me many hours during many days, this addon could have help me a lot.

unfortunately i never got any answer from zos and they kept closing my reports.

i'm tempted to start using this addon, but in other way i completely lost the trust on zos to ban the cheaters.

O, how grand were the days of yore, when antiboty roamed Tamriel, smiting all the bots with his mighty banhammer!

Yep, those were the days.. *sigh* Remember when?

Hah, you actually have a picture! I would link one as well if my old harddrive hadn't gone and died on me two years ago. The GM I saw in Coldharbour back in 2014 was like a blue ghost similar to the old guy in the main story. A shame you don't see GMs ingame anymore, at least that would make it seem like they still had a vested interest in the game's health, and didn't only care about the Crown Crates :|

Back in 2014, ZOS was handling the bot problem. Today, I have to wonder whether Bethesda has picked up this role. Bethesda has apparently picked up the Customer Support role from ZOS, as all emails now come from "Bethesda Customer Support". That might have included a lot more than just answering tickets.

It will make game even worse. Already alchemy resources are broken. Only get from guild stores most of the cases. Thats my opinion.

I agree. But unless , I get crafting resources I need in fair manner in game , why should I care about ZOs? I think its done at large scale. Bots farming resources is big problem.

There are people that have played tens of thousands of hours of hard work to get what they have, pretty sure if they allowed every zone to be pvp and all items on player to be lootable plenty of people would leave in droves. Myself included.

We need game moderators to go once in a while and purge bots. Stuff like that is awesome. Shows real care for the community as a whole.

Announcing that they will be taking action like that means the bots log off should they have someone that sees such a message.

It is frustrating that there is no report of bot accounts banned from ZOS. To keep it secret and have so many bots remain makes the community distrust that any actions are taking place at all. This also sends a signal that bots are tolerated for a period long enough to make it worth their while to do. So the bot problem increases.

An account perma banned for violating the TOS should be placed on a ban page. No details, no commenting allowed. Such a listing from ZOS should not be lumped into being naming and shaming. Listings could be delayed 30 days to allow for appeals to be investigated and resolved. Suspensions should be kept private since they are not permanently being removed from the community.
