Buggy CC Users - A Call for Bags

It never ceases to amaze me that when the servers’ performance is disappointing and all kinds of issues with CC / bar swap / animations pop up that I also begin seeing a ton of people using “draining shot” in PvP.

These players don’t use draining shot normally. We saw it used a lot two weeks ago when the servers were struggling and CC was buggy... then when everything cleaned up I stopped seeing it.

Now I’m seeing it again. What a coincidence.

And I’m sure I’ll see it a lot more this weekend, as the servers continue to spiral downwards until they’re rebooted Sunday night (and the console players downloading dragonboners stop hogging so much of the ZOS gerbil’s resources).

I, for one, am not OK with players using draining shot over the weekend. Due to the poor server performance, draining shot can be used to knockback opponents without granting immunity ,even when the target breaks free, and even if the attacker doesn’t dodgeroll cancel the skill. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it happens, and it is infuriating.

Two weeks ago, players who PvE’d in imperial city and gained massive amount of XP due to a bug were suspended. What about players who PvP with draining shot and get wins they shouldn’t due to a bug? I do see a difference between players who take advantage of this bug and the players suspended for the IC bug - in the case of the IC bug, nobody was disadvantaged by it.

I doubt ZOS will count it as an official exploit, even though the intent is worse (to gain an advantage over another player rather than just improving your own character). But let’s make no mistake - these people are taking advantage of the bugs caused by the laggy conditions of the server... and anyone who takes advantage of a bug is an exploiter in my book...

Please join me this weekend in teabagging everyone that uses draining shot in PvP!

Will we bag innocents? Maybe one or two, just like how ZOS suspended one or two players in IC who just wanted to PvP there... but let’s be real.. how often do you see draining shot used seriously in PvP? Almost never.

    Not sure if serious here...

    I doubt there are more people using Draining Shot for exploit. There are just a lot more bow builds in general since patch for obvious reasons.

    Granted I haven't been to Cyro in months so I can't speak for what's happening there, but I haven't noticed any weirdness with it in BG's.

    Are you sure you are not just NOTICING these more now? I highly doubt you see such a noticeable increase due to the lag. It is alot more likely, that the number of users are the exact same, but you are noticing them more now, since they affect you more profoundly.

    I have had the same experience, but with shield bash. This has always been a buggy CC with a Huuuuge delay. I also played yesterday, and i noticed players with shield bash ALOT more, because they affected my gameplay hugely, bugging out my CC totally, and causing my unfair death in 1vX scenarios multiple times.

    Tbag if it makes you feel better. I wont stop using draining shot just because Zenimax decided NOT TO FIX THIS ABILITY for 2 patches in a row.

    I actually hope this thread would get more popular and everyone started complaining. I guess thats what it takes to get something fixed finally.

    Wasn’t “competitive” PvP always a synonym for who picked up the latest exploits quickest? I vividly remember the time when the double Mundus and Hist Bark exploits came to light. There are so many things out there the regular player who doesn’t want to win at all cost doesn’t even know about.

    meteor is another thing. I highly doubt people (sometimes myself on my stamplar for luls)are using it "just because" in heavy lag situations or when there's a ton of people. The lag rubberband is stupid.

    It was that way a long time ago. Now it’s just a synonym for who can stack the most wardens and Templars into a group
