That feeling when you finish the latest dungeon. When Scalecaller Peak has been checked, aka marked as finished and done.
Now allow me to explain why this feels like an accomplishment.
First off, new bosses. You have to figure out the strategies/tactics, their attacks. What to do and when to do it. Where to stand and when to stand there. You stand just a little in the wrong place and your dead. If your the healer or tank and die, well now everyone else will also most likely die.
Some of these bosses were easier than others. The second boss the Gargoyle, Doylemish Ironheart is definitely the easiest boss in my book. Followed by the Giant boss, Matriarch Aldis. The longest, most tedious, hair pulling boss in my opinion would be the third boss, Plague Concoctor Mortieu. His health is so super high, and his poison does a lot of damage. If you go in there without a clue what to do, instant death. Who knew imps could do so much damage? Really teaches you a lesson to take down even the seemingly harmless mobs bosses spawn.
The last boss, Zaan the Scalecaller was very good. Not so tricky to defeat if you know what to do. Most bosses follow a simple rule, stay out of red areas and your good. Though as the fight progresses it gets a bit more complicated.
Completing a dungeon like Scalecaller Peak gave at least me a sense of accomplishment. This is a new dungeon, many have done it but there is also many who have not done it. Regardless you have to figure out what to do. It is a long dungeon, takes around 1-2 hours to complete. If your not in some super speed group anyways, very much depends on your group.
So when you have died like 20 times, your gear has gone to hell, you have been so tempted to rage quit several times. But you keep thinking, "I've come this far." When your in that kind of situation but end up victorious. You leave with a win! Now that is when you have a smile on your face and go all "yay!". Because you defeated every single boss no matter how difficult, tedious or time consuming it was. You used up all your potions but you won.
Now that is why I am very pleased with having finished Scalecaller Peak.
As for the dungeon itself, environment, design and such. Very nice and very impressive! A unique new dungeon. New design elements, very nice ambiance. Was a lot of fun to go outside and climb the mountain itself instead of going through dark tunnels.
Some consider this dungeon easy, some consider it difficult. I say it depends on the boss and your group. But in general I'd say this is a medium difficulty dungeon. This dungeon can be a royal pain to finish. But when you get to the finish line, once Zaan herself is defeated you will cheer!
Excellent new dungeon, very enjoyable even if the bosses were a pain. But dungeons are supposed to be a challenge.
So congratulations to everyone who have finished Scalecaller Peak, no small feat.
