Doing 40K + DPS without Cheese (Stamblade)

Why isn't this a more common thing?

Last night (Xbox) talking with some guildies, they had mentioned that NO ONE should be wearing TFS in a trial.. and even in dungeons it isn't needed anymore. Testing with 2 fang on and high CP in Pen and Lover's Mundus is just a way to cheese DPS.

I switched last night to 5 pc hundings and 5 pc VO (Jewerly and 2 body). Before I would hit like 41- 43K depending on crits on a 3 million dummy. (However this was with Dubious Carone to be fair) and now I have about 40 - 41k (I also dropped my Pen down to 24 points). Now with VO (and that will change with war Machine, but I do not have it) I can run blue food with no sustain problems, 3 million or 6 million. I just heavy attack here and there if I need to.
Now, to be fair, I use Kragh's helment and shoulders, but that's because it's just best monster set I have. Both are MED divines.

So what's more respectable, hitting higher with more pen, though it means nothing in a trial or doing less but without the crutch of two fang?

Two-Fanged is useless in a trial group where some people wear Sunderflame & NMG and the tank Brings Torug's and even Alkosh. The only content you'll be running without any support is Maelstrom, where mobs have much less resistance, between 9-12K and as NB you'll overcome that with no trouble since you spammable skill also applies Major Fracture. So IMO raw damage & sustain is way better. VO+Hunding is one of those combos that were always a solid choice. In a group War Machine would be better TBH, with more damage and also buffs for other 2 people near you, if you will farm that in HOF.

War Machine is my next goal. I just did a vAA last night and finally got a neck (gold too) for VO so I threw that on. I know a lot of people will frown at using kragh's, but it's whatever,

Last I checked, this game was not a trial dummy simulator. Will you get more dummy DPS with pen sets? OF COURSE. But who gives a rats ass as long as the variables are made known when you go boasting about your parse. There is nothing wrong with testing in pen sets. Pen is always the best way to increase damage until you get very close to the cap. In a raid, people do it for you. When solo, you need to do it yourself. Some will argue that you actually are better off trying to simulate raid penetration as much as possible if you want to really analyze your parse.

Now if your raid group wants you to test in trial sets, that's certainly fine, and yes your DPS will fall. If you are really a skilled end game player, you dont even need to look at your parse to know if you nailed the rotation. As long as you always compare apples to apples, what you wear is irrelevant.

A far more dangerous (for lack of a better word) way of cheesing a dummy is with parses that either significantly alter your rotation (usually during opening and execute) or using rotations that land you completely out of resources by the end of the dummy, especially on the three million.
