Butt flaps/ Front Flaps should they be removed or optional?

Yes for the love of Stendarr they should either remove them or make them optional

Order of the Hour and Grim Harlequin do not have these. Same with Mazzutan.

Note, I have not checked all weights.

Order of the hour and Mazzatun just replace them with a skirt, and to be frank that isn't much better.

I like some of them, I dislike some of them. I had hoped the new outfit system would finally give us the change to remove them.

But there are huge technical restrictions that the characters are animated/created under - and I personally suspect that the flaps are there to hide clipping and/or seaming issues.

I tend to dislike the floating kneeguards/elbowguards and belt buckles. That triggers me when I find something I like and turn sideways only to notice the floaty guards are 2 feet away from my body. It just looks plain silly.

i couldn't pick a straight yes/no. I don't want the extra complication of each one having extra options, but I would like choices of armour that doesn't have them in the first place. I think there are only about four styles of heavy that don't, out of how many total? And it's the same elements each time. There aren't any armours with a continuous pleated "skirt", or pteryges (lots of small ones). There are just a few with side flaps (tassets) only, despite that being the normal arrangement for mounted use (or the front/back pieces would have been uncomfortable to rider or horse). The saddle provides the protection when mounted. Foot soldiers would not want any gap, hence the pteryges style.

It probably does make sense for them to be part of the chest slot, rather than attached to the greaves, to get overlap working when the armour styles are mixed, and I suspect the idea was to cover gaps in those situations, but the four-flap fixation is too heavy-handed.

    No they should keep them
I have dressed up characters without flaps, and now my view is not to get rid those flaps. They do serve a purpose and usually make the character outlook more pleasant. Best to have both options.

IIRC, you can make flapless characters at least from Malacath and Order hour styles by mixing light and medium pieces.

I've never been against butt/crotch flaps until now. Trying on multiple good looking chest pieces and wanting to keep more than a few but then I see the awful looking flap, not sure how I didn't notice them all that much before.

Kill the side flaps. The side flaps on the Grim Harlequin jerkin are so ugly.

If you remove them, you should get a debuff for having lesser protection to critical areas! :D

One of the chest pieces I was checking out the other day was completely ruined by the hip flap clipping... on a character with no hips! Can't imagine what this does on a curvy character... not even going to get into all the floating ones.

While they are at it, hiding shoulders and belt buckles would also be useful, since many are floating and some of the newer belt buckles are halfway up the chest o.O

    Get it together art department!

Variety is good. No need to remove butt flaps from current armors but hopefully we will get some without them in the future
