Skills Advisor is Great. Now Let's Improve On It.

I loved starting up the game and seeing all the advised abilities. Cycling through roles for Magicka DPS, Stam DPS, Tanking and Healing.

However, most people's set up is 3 variations of DPS or Tanking or Healing. Depending on the content they're doing. Not necessarily 1 of each.

It'd be great if we could edit the current builds or create our own.

Set the CP allocation.
Set the attribute allocation. (Health, Stamina, Magicka)
Set the skillpoint allocation. (Skills, Morphs Passives)
Set the role. (Damage, Tank, Healer)
And change all of these at once.

I see it working exactly like it does now.

You go to a statue or altar or whatever.
You select your preset build.
And instead of refunding your skill points, attribute points and CP, it just automatically reassigns them for whatever it would cost.

You'd be offered 3 boxes to Check. Similar to the "Have Ingredients /Have Skill" boxes in the provisioning menu.

Reallocate Champion Points

Reallocate Attribute Points

Reallocate Skill Points

3k for CP.
x for Skill Points.
3200 for Attributes.

Only being charged per box checked.

Even if we can't have a system to reallocate all of our points...

Being able to assign 2 or 3 "preferred skill" lists would be a huge Quality of Life thing for changing the setup between PvE, PvP and Trials. Especially now that we basically have that except we didn't get to pick the skills.

do think eso are going right direction , do think if they had a general basic build for the 4 classes armour weapons skills etc at set levels on that as well then life in general would be so much easier for the new players

The basic build for most of the rolls I've seen is fairly good for people to start out on, and is fairly tweakable to those who want something truely their own or want to experiment. I'd say the skill advisor does what it's supposed to: It points you in the right direction and gives some insight into how the devs intended each spec to play. (For instance, I would have never figured the warden was a bow stamina class except for the skill advisor.)

Allthough the skill advisor does indeed expose some flaws within the design philosophy, and disconnect there in. Such as come classes simply not having pierce armor. Or almost all builds having guard, a skill which I think is quite frankly suicidle. Or none of the stamina DPS classes having two hander, further confirming that weapon's usefullness is religated to PVP.

The Skill Advisor and how much people use it, and why they use it, will likely help ZOS determin the flaws in their own method, and will point people in the right direction in future. I have seen a increase in overall compitence from pugs after this dropped, so quite frankly I'm all aboard.

We do, frankly, need different CP speccing however.

Not sure it is necessary. Ppl who want to follow a proper guide is already doing so. Your fast respect just kill no cp pvp (if it is not already dead), since ppl can respect between pve and pvp much faster. And there will always be snipe spammers, crystal shard casters.

Seems OP is asking for something new vs tweaks to the skill adviser since the suggestion is more being able to sets ones own builds for personal reasons vs helping the skill adviser become a better advisor.

    This might confuse some.

The advisor does need some improving. But it could be a little more flexible too. It already allows you to use your skill points to quickly purchase the recommended abilities. It'd nice if we could also have a few a "pinned" or "favourited" abilities that you would use regardless of which content you were running. Like Caltrops which is incredibly flexible.

I think before a bunch of new features are added, ZOS needs to fix the problems in the advisor first.

Advisor will recommend a a passive rank 10 or higher of a skill line even though that skill line has not been started. Needs to get the line started, have notation that a skill is a starter one to build to up that skill to the rank you need for the advised skills of the build.

Need a way to explore and see the whole tree of a build. Much easier to know what is going on, such as seeing that it advised a rank 14 passive cause it will advise a rank 27 skill later. (DK: Stoneskin Dragon build has this).

I am curious to know if the Skill Advisor API is available to have addons built that can add custom builds.

For some reason as a Stam Sorc at cp890 the skills advisor says I should remorph volatile familiar into clanfear and frags into blast. Neither of which are included in my build anyway...

That's probably the default setting. You can change your role and it will change the advice accordingly.
