PSA: Outfit slot upgrades are not account wide

Before this gets moved to another forum section where it will die...

Just a psa reminder to not spend crowns on them and expect 1.5k crowns to give you access to those slots on all characters. Youd think that a upgrade that costs the same as a dlc would be unlocked account wide but zos just lost further revenue for me as I am not paying 15k crowns for 10 slots only to have access to my slots on that character

It would be more tolerable if it was 200 crowns for one character but you decided to price it the same as a dlc...

I expected a expensive upgrade to be account wide, if it was 200 crowns per slot I would expect it to be character based

What happens if one delete's a character which Outfit slots had been purchased for? I would suppose $150 would also be deleted if 10 slots had been purchased. I purchased several Outfit slots expecting them to be account bound items I could "use" on one of my characters. Sadly, these applied immediately to the character I was logged into. It makes very little sense for ZOS to not make these account wide unlocks; well except a quick cash infusion I suppose.

ESPECIALLY when the wording is vague and does not explain that it is for only one slot. Its almost as if they are trying to trick people. These outfits lots reek of bad business practices.

Yeah, I hate this, will not be spending money on it. Where as if they had made it 1500 for the whole account to have an extra slot each, I'd have bought a couple.

Thanks for letting us know. I'm sorry you had to find out the hard way.

I suspected it would work like this, but it's helpful to have confirmation.

That's what happens with bag upgrades and riding skills - if you delete the character they're lose and any new character you make in that slot has to start over. I assume it's the same with outfit slots.

i still have faith in ZOS to come out of the woodwork if they notice that nobody buys the slots, telling us "oh, this was a bug, of course! *cough*. 1500 crowns is for the whole account. please buy our stuff."
    IF nobody buys them..

Don't you love when that happens. Anytime light is shined on a post that pull attention to practices many consider unethical, that post gets buried.

True story, but those items are all consumables obtained through the Crown Store which you can also obtain for in-game gold. This is an "instant unlock" from the crown store with no option to trade/consume on other characters. Seem's "bad" to have a possible $150 investment deleted away as easy as this.

When it comes to ZOS and the crown store, I have learned to expect the opposite of reasonable. Haha. Seriously though, sorry you had to find out the hard way.

I've been following that limitation on extra outfit slots and was aware. That said, I was surprised that the purchase option in the crown store does not clearly spell out the limitation. So good PSA. :)

Let me put it this way

IF they don't meet their marketing/sale plans before the next big upgrade (meaning, very few or none pays for these outfit slots)...you can expect the price going down..if it does not...it means there are people who are willing to buy outfit slots for a single character for that high price.

Do you remember, how some players complained how paying a subscription for a game monthly, was too much?

I bet they are happy now, that all the updates and expansions that once were paid with 15€ moth, are now all much more expensive and need to be bought separately.

They should have copied Swtor, even though Swtor's dead atm but they had both account wide / single option unlocks.

IE: Account wide = 2600 Coins
Single character use = 900 Coins

I do agree that the crown store should say Character Upgrade instead of just Upgrade.

But nobody needs 10 outfit slots on a single character. That's why they'll never be 200 crowns apiece. They're priced as the luxury item they are.

The sad thing is harping on this two weeks later when you've had plenty of time to earn the *** money and buy the *** slots if you're really that passionate about having them.

I disagree. I would rather have 10 different outfits for the characters i roleplay, than have just couple for couple of occasions. If theres something else, need to go to outfit station. Not very funny. Besides one can for example, have outfits for different climates and weathers as well.

    ^ Precisely this ^

If ZOS would at least give us another outfit slot as an ESO+ reward or make them purchaseable with gold like most crown store items...
