Ping is not an excuse for low dps. I hit 42k on a 3 mill with 22 erosion before the fix to merciless. I get 330 ping generally on the target dummy.

For having played in both environment I can tell you that high ping makes it harder to reach high numbers.
High ping Does not make it impossible to have high DPS number but definitely makes it harder.
I’m Australian also. I’ve Hit 44.3k on my Stam DK and 41.3k on my mag blade after only playing magblade for 2 days. Both were completely solo and I have videos of each. The main thing to remember is that for perfect parses like that you can’t miss a single light attack. If you aren’t at the point yet where you realise that then the rotation itself is more then likely the reason.
In saying that though, high ping makes my weaving very different than the U.S players as they can LA>skill and never worry about weaving again. We have to make sure we give out LA that .3 second (ping) to register and start that LA animation before we hit our skill so we don’t override the weave. This doesn’t result in any loss of damage though as I’ve never seen anyone hit higher than my DK with blue jewellery on the target dummy. All the same amount of weaves and abilities are being done, just the gap between LA and skill has to incorporate your ping.
Turn off WIFI On the phones and your kid can’t watch Netflix though when you’re in a trial because those lag spikes can’t be accounted for. That’s pure DPS loss
