Nope.

No. A Shield can be worn with Light or Medium or Heavy, so no way to really apply that bonus.
It gives an extra slot for Set Piece Bonuses, so 5+5+2 is possible without Dual Wield.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
