About racial passive rebalance

Been seeing a few posts on this topic. I have something to suggest. And ofc, open to other people’s opinions as well.

I think the current system is not far from good, all it needs is some number changes.

Nerf argonian potion boost, only regen mag and stam, not health.
Buff nord cold resist to 1320/2640/3960, buff dmg reduction to 3/5/7%
Buff breton, spell resist will have equal physical resistance.
Buff dark elf flame resist and wood elf disease resist to 1320/2640/3960.

    If you actually want to rebalance the races for min-maxing end-game content, you have to deal with the bonuses to max stats. For example, Nords aren't on the short list for stam DPS characters because they don't have the best stat racial bonuses compared to the others, cold resist isn't going to make them any better for end-game content.

    If you actually want to rebalance the races for min-maxing end-game content, you have to deal with the bonuses to max stats. For example, Nords aren't on the short list for stam DPS characters because they don't have the best stat racial bonuses compared to the others, cold resist isn't going to make them any better for end-game content.

    But more dmg reduction can make it stronger in pvp

    Personally this game shouldn’t be in any attempt to balance in terms of racial passives because it’s more important that the game mimic TES lore

    The issue isn’t the racials, it’s the core game itself and how those play i to the core game. Change the game and fix maaaaany problems.

    Change can be remove TES out and just make it their own other game with the same artwork etc or another change to make it more like TES Online vs this half traditional MMO and half some other server based game.


    Consider TES doesn’t have PvP, set classes and skill limitations, therefore those games were not designed with balance issues in mind.

    Unfortunately the devs of ESO seemingly are using one design from another older game and trying to use that in this game which is resulting in many problems. Some would argue it’s the same problems they had in an older server based game.

    Maybe for a permablock tank build. For a damage dealer, I'm still going to take a redguard for better sustain or an orc for better speed/damage.

    I'm not going to argue wit you over the particulars of your choices. If you want to rebalance for PVE endgame or even PVP endgame, you have to address those max stat bonuses that drive all the min-maxers towards races like redguard and altmer.

    I think the passives should be standardized;

    Regen + Resist Passive
    Stat Boost
    Damage Amp/Utility

    i.e Bosmer

    10% stam regen + 2079 disease resistance (I kinda think that individual resistances should be doubled, whereas multi resists, i.e spell res should be half that value).
    10% max stam
    5% poison or ranged damage

    A lot of people are expecting to see Argonian nerfed soon as it is very strong, I don't mind seeing specialized races but so many are just sub-optimal that you really see the disparity between races in game (Altmers and Redguards mostly). But at least this way you achieve better balance and diversity without gutting passives or breaking lore.

    What? All i said is small number change, how does it even break lore.
