There seems to be a new type of HP bug in the game. The old one, where your hp bar doesn't go up to 100% but, instead, the game client claims you have e.g. 14480 / 20756 hp (like my character does right now) is still there but there is a new one as well that goes in the opposite direction: your client shows you having plenty of HP when, in fact, you only have a fraction of that figure in reality. This has caused numerous inexplicable deaths in Cyrodiil and duels where combat logs do not show any explanation to the sudden death.
I just dueled with a guild mate and in two separate fights, his client showed him having well over 10k health while, on my screen, his health dipped steadily from my Soul Assault channel. Later, in a duel against another player, I died the same way: my client showed me having over 14k health, so I wasn't too worried about healing (I got almost 30k both resists + 2.8k crit resist), and then I just inexplicably died.
Based on a little bit of testing, it would appear to be related to channeling/damage over time abilities that don't deal the full damage immediately. Some kind of desync in relaying the damage tick information beyond the initial, first tick, to the client or something.
I will post a video, if I can catch this in action while running OBS.
I play on PC/EU megaserver.
EDIT: Modified the title since I am obviously only speculating about the cause.
