Master Writ chance

Was there any changes to the Master Writ drop chance via the daily writ quests? Since some updates I'm not getting any better than 6 vouchers. I was getting atleast once a week or 2 weeks something like 30+ vouchers even 70+. Since CWC or just right before seems getting high value master writs just close to impossible. Is it because of the buyable Transmutation Station?

It's just a bad run of RNG

I do them on 18 toons daily... There hasn't been a change that I can see. Some days are high some are low but I seem to have a 50% chance per toon to get 1 master writ out of the 6 writs done. This month so far I'm averaging 174 vouchers per day total, I do expect a few days of bad rng to make up for that. Last months average was 123 vouchers per day... My all time average(since March) is 108 vouchers per day.

I had about two weeks last month where I was getting 60+ all over the place. I'm back to 5-7 each, every other day again.

ESO RNG seems to cycle, and in really, really weird ways.

Do they sell for much? I never see any in the guild stores...

Master writ drops for me have been all over the place since the beginning. Right after it began I was getting high value, 100-200+ writs but of course some low ones also. I got motif happy to potentially get better ones more often and had all but 2 or 3 styles learned. Then after the morrorwind styles were released I started getting only sub 10 voucher writs. didn't have the gold or patience for new motifs, plus had all I wanted from rewards, so I gave up. occasionally still do writs but all master drops have been low voucher still. I'm probably done until there is more incentive.

On Xbox you get 500 to 1k gold per voucher. But some won't even sell for that. I had one on a guild trader. The first time I asked 5k for a 6 voucher writ, second time I asked 3k. When I got it back after offering it for 3k, I sent it to a guild master crafter. At least I can use the crafting and transmutation stations there.

Chances drop drastically when you starting missing motifs like Mazzatun or Silkenring (examples).

It is a case of persevering. I do the 3 crafting writs on 8 characters every day and would get 2 -3 MW's a day and a 50+ voucher writ probably about every 3rd day. So that's maybe 1 'higher value' MW every 72 daily writs.

I do not make the lower value writs and sell them but they can be slow movers, especially when you have something like a 6 voucher writ for Morag Tong style needing a DLC crafting station. I usually sell them at 50% face value or there abouts - 3k for 5/6 voucher, 4k for 7/8 voucher writ.

I do not do the daily writs for the MW's, they are simply a bonus. I do a lot of trading so do the dailies for the materials and gold. I have sold about 35-40 MW's in the last week for about 200k, so they are a nice little side earner.

I raced to get hiaalu, telvani, reddorn and buoyant Armanger fast. (I have 6 maxed pickpockets so not too hard) now have apostle, and ebonshadow too on main crafter and still in the same boat as I was before and get 7 to 16 vouchers.
So much for thinking my odds would improve by getting them faster. It's been rubbish since before cwc for me.My lesser crafters have pulled better slightly better writs - makes you wonder.

i only know up to morrowind on motifs on main crafter who is almost a 9 trait crafter. ill get a mw writ every 1 to 3 days. most of the time its single digit value but ill get lucky with 60 plus ones time to time.

i do writs on 2 other characters who are 8 trait crafters and only the racial and common full purple books. they do get mw less than my main crafter but not by much. they have given me quite a few 100plus ones and they know way less motifs than my main.

then again im a motif obssesser. but not knowing a lot of motifs doesnt seem to hurt you much

If you're anything like me then it feels like I'm getting fewer >10-voucher writs than before, but it's probably a product of fewer writs in total instead of rng within the writs.

ZOS promised that our writ chance wouldn't decrease as more motifs were released, but there's no way that happened: in summer I went from averaging ~11 writs a week on my master crafter (missing 3 motif completions) to averaging ~3 per week (as of December, he's only missing 4 completions, with more purple recipes learned).

Having more motifs only increases your chance of getting a master writ, not the chance of it being worth more vouchers.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

Yes, and if you're missing only one of the included motifs (and there are a few very tough or expensive ones to get) then your drop chance goes down way way down. Miss two or more and you basically have the same chance as if you know no purple motifs. Adding the DLC dungeon motifs was a very bad move (them being still quite expensive).

Well The writs I have are for for 7 to 10 voucher only ever got one for 140 once since master writs started. Got a 40 and a 50 once.
Also getting less altogether despite having more crafters as time goes on. I always had 2 nine trait crafters sinse start one knows 25 motifs the other all but 3.
add 2 eight trait 2 seven trait and 3 on 5ish traits crafter So I do more writs on more characters, to get the same amount drop. Despite knowing more motifs. the quality Of writs being 7 to 19 has diminished too. It's a very diluted pool, with a slim chance.

It's quality and quantity both are problems , It reminds me of doing multiple runs of a dungeon for a helm dropping in well fitted years ago kind of chance but the other guy you run with gets it first time divines most time and does not see the problem.

So is this still relevant? http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Writ_Vouchers
In the case of provisioning and enchanting, does putting points into aspect improvement and recipe quality have any effect on getting master writs?

Nah, at least it worth to visit these dungeons for these, since the sets there are all trash.

I do them on 2 toons per day and I'm lucky if I get one writ a week.
