[This isn't a quitting thread, just n I can't take it anymore thread]

There's only so much I can take and if I'm being discontented/logged out every 2 mins then its time to call it quits

I shouldn't be getting this while I'm directly connected to my router and hitting these speeds

    are you sure it is not your internet connection, or wi-fi router?

    I almost never get disconnected like this, pc eu

    Ouch. :(

    I'm getting (for some zones) the dreaded long loading screen but connectivity is fine. Also PC/EU. Hope it settles down for you soon.

    I've been having a lot more disconnects on zone transition since the last patch on EU PC - very frustrating.

    Would recommend doing a repair to the game client. At the very least you can eliminate that step in case you open a support ticket (first thing they will tell you to do after disabling all addons)

    Agreed, except that I hope no serious gamer is using wi-fi. If they are, they should certainly declare that when reporting any connectivity or other performance issues.

    I'd also make sure that if addons are being used then the addon folder is moved e.g. to the desktop for testing purposes, rather than the addons simply being disabled.

    Finally, I'd check the ISP tech forum and investigate any current issues as someone recently reported here that they had similar problems that were resolved as soon as they dealt with a network issue. It would also be worth mentioning which ISP is used and where the OP is playing from.

    If someone is being disconnected every two minutes while others are still happily playing then it suggests that proper investigation is needed at the client end and between there and the server. The servers aren't without their problems, but you can tell when the main issue is at their end because the forum instantly fills up with numerous threads. That isn't the case here.

    EDIT: Oh, and try repairing the files from the launcher in case there's a defective file causing issues.

    Hey @JamieAubrey ,

    You said this in relation to your issue in another discussion:
    As OF RIGHT NOW, NOW

    I'm being randomly logged out over and over while sitting AFK waiting for the Queue to pop, I've already missed it once because of it

    Are you being kicked by the AFK protection? It will hit you pretty fast.

    If not, you'll want to reach out to us via our Support channels either by posting in the Support category here on the forums or via a ticket. That will be the best way to get assistance with this issue.

    The fact that they stated they were AFK makes me ask because the issue may then be related to a problem with AFK detection. I was simply trying to troubleshoot some potential issues before sending them to the Support people that will ultimately be able to help them best. :)

    I always wondered why players in NA(assuming you are) are having such latency issues, i mean i play from SEA and i rarely get disconnected... still i can understand your frustration though and i hope you get it sorted out.

    its way longer than 5min. i can go have a shower and come back before it kicks in. or play a game of slitherlink which usually takes 15 (i do that when i need to get up for a bit)

    someone doesnt understand how internet works. although you have now provided a diagnostic step that shows the connection to your isp reasonably works. It still could be an isp issue though.

    if this is happening every 2min, then you can run a ping test, or try winmtr if you are on pc and run a continous ping to something like google while you play and see if that also has an issue when you get kicked. if it does, its not the game. if not, run the test to the game server and see what happens. if both get dropped id suggest a path issue. if only the client, likely the client has an issue.

    No, it doesn't even reach the AFK time limit, I log in, check the Cyro queue, speak in guild chat then logged/kicked to log in screen, no error message unless I try to log in and get the "you are already logged in" message

    Its been fine before update 17, today was the first time I've been on ( other than to feed mounts ) in about a week but like I said it has been fine up until before Update 17

    In fairness;

    "...the issue may then be related to a problem with AFK detection."

    I took this to mean that instead of functioning as it should (well beyond 2 minutes) that something was borked and the pass to inactive status was occurring waaaay too soon.

    I guess I should make it clear. I'm not attacking this dev, but my experience with the support team is complete aggravation.
    The support staffs response to my problems have been so non-sensical, there is no way they even read the title let alone the body of the message.

    Could be that I spent years and years in CS/TS but that "detection" in the sentence made it clear to me that the possibility exists that it can be wonky.

    Different lenses I guess.

    it certainly comes across that you are. unlike you, they actually picked up that the OP is complaining about this issue in multiple threads and are trying to help. thats more than you are doing. You clearly have nothing to help the OP here so id suggest stop posting in this thread lest we all misconstrue any more of your 'not attacking'

    For some reason its disconnecting a lot, four times while in the rift, just reset my internet connection to see if that will fix it.
    But I think others are dealing with this too.

    I've had similar experiences with CS and them blaming my internet when it was addons still being accessed through the API. They didn't even tell me to move the addon/saved variable folders to the desktop (when it should be a valid step in their troubleshooting advice).

    To the actual matter, though;

    While I do agree that there could be something at the client's end- I've seen my friend being randomly disconnected at certain times during higher volumes. The best thing that people having this issue can do is;
    • Keep a record from the time of login from Character Selection (where you can actually move and play the game) to the time of disconnect. Record errors if applicable and how long it took you to get back into the game.
    • Keep a record of any other internet services going out at the time of disconnect (Steam, Discord, Skype, TeamSpeak, etc).
    • Use the buddy system (have a friend describe what they see at the time of your disconnect) to make a detailed log of what exactly what you were doing (they may pick up on information you missed during the time of logout)
    • Provide accurate system information (computer specs, platform/server, operating system, etc)
    • Make a list of troubleshooted steps, that way we don't go over something you may have already done. Also leave detailed information about what happened as you took those steps.
    • Even though I have my opinions about CS, make a ticket and keep them up to date so there's something in an official record (forum posts can get pretty cluttered). Provide generated game consultant files/dxdiag if asked (though it never hurts to provide them up front).
    • Post back with potential fixes and solutions, because you may help someone else struggling with the same problems.

    It may sound tedious, more than what it's worth, or hard work- but in the end leaving those types of breadcrumbs help everyone involved- either being affected or troubleshooting.

    Pretty sure a few others have made a similar complaint since the launch of Dragon Bones.

    I think it’s worth looking into AFK Detection. I notice (as a PS4 NA player in CWC patch) that the AFK kick seems a bit..... random. I’ve left for 15+ min before with no kick. Other times I’m kicked in 5min. It has been like this for as long as I can remember, but maybe something changed in Dragon Bones.

    Just have to say that I appreciate seeing a response from ZOS. We see too few of them in the forums. Thank you.

    To the OP, first thing support tell s you do is rename your addon and saved variables files to .old. Then log in to see if the issue is corrected. When posting it is always helpful to do this and state that so all knows what steps you have done so far.
    Also when you do that in your support ticket, they cut out a step for you to do and can get to the real problem faster.

    If the renaming fixes it, then add them back one at a time.

    If it does not, do not change the file back until support gets you fixed. They do not do addon support and you don't want them to blame it while not proceeding with what is their problem.

    There are some addon that have given me some troubles when they had not in the past. I have found I can no longer run them since they were changed in updates. I do not know if this is your case but it can give you an area to look at.
