If you are going to give it to PvP deaths you might as well give it to PvE deaths. Because that is what people will ask for
If you didn't lose any, but the person that kills you gets a copy of half still, couldn't two friends from different alliances repeatedly kill each other back and forth and farm tel var at a crazy rate though? Not sure how that would be prevented.

I did list a risk though, just one less harsh, but still annoying enough that people will want to avoid it.

How do you personally feel about the idea of removing the function that getting killed by other players in the IC causes you to lose half of your Tel var?
Note that said idea will only affect PVP, PVE deaths will still cause a loss and even in PVP, the player that killed you could instead receive just a copy of half of your stones while your multiplier resets to X1 for a set amount of time until it wears off, regardless of the number of stones in your possession. Basically no one loses anything in a PVP encounter besides some time to travel back and their multiplier for a certain amount of time., much like in Cyrodiil.
