Id like to see something more done with fishing. In a perfect Tamriel, id like to see it overhauled/upgraded. But thats probably not going to happen. So maybe a simpler QOL improvement?
1) Better fishing poles gained through fishing achievements:
*Green Pole: Acquired when you complete the fishing achievement for any alliance.
- Reduces "catch" time by 15%
- when using a bait other than the ideal type( IE: insect parts in the ocean), you have a 25% less chance of catching "used bait"
- Can catch green Gunny Sacks( Chance: 90% white/10% Green)
*Blue Pole: Acquired when you complete two alliance fishing achievements.
-Reduces "catch" time by 30%
- 50% less chance of catching "used bait" when not using the ideal bait.
- Can catch blue Gunny Sacks ( Chance: 77% white/20%green/3% blue)
*Purple Pole: Acquired when you complete all alliance fishing achievements and Cyrodil( Master Angler)
-Reduces catch time by 45%
-75% less chance of catching "used bait" when not using the ideal bait.
- Can catch Purple Gunny Sacks ( Chance: 55% white/ 33% green/10% blue/2% purple)
* Gold Pole: Requires the achievement " The Fish Whisperer"
-Reduces catch time by 75%
- Use a lure( does not require bait)

I'll be honest I don't like fishing but I did it to get my boat. If something like this was in place I would actually enjoy fishing. I really like the gunny sack idea too.1 -

I really want to enjoy fishing in this game. I think with all the effort they put into the scenery, it would be great to just get people to stop and enjoy the scenery and catch some fish. The problem is fishing nodes are very few and fishing is so boring that people do other things while do they it. For example, i play games on my phone or watch tv and just listen for the sound.
I wish it was more interactive( and more rewarding) because its something i really want to enjoy as a mini game in this game. From what ive read on the forums a lot of people seem to want more out of fishing as well.Edited by Anotherone773 on February 20, 2018 12:02AM1 -

forwardbias83✭✭✭Would be nice to have more than just the generic looking bamboo pole. There is another game where you could do fishing related quests for better poles, and there were dailies that would give random fishing related items generally consumable items, and on rare occasion equipment that increased passive skill level. You could get poles that when equipped, you could activate to get a buff to fishing skill, reducing the chance to get junk items, acted as using a consumable lure in the game. Plus they had a smaller passive skill increase while equipped. And there were a wide range of cooking recipes that required different types of fish to grant different types of food buffs including some fish that gave cosmetic effects that were dependent on the type of fish caught, which different areas had different types of fish, so if you were looking for a specific food buff, there would be a certain type of fish you would want to catch.
Although not a main profession, it was beneficial to have. Either to make food buff stuff for yourself, or you could just fish, fish, fish and put the different types of fish up on auction for the people who did not bother with fishing and make a nice amount of money being the fish were components for food buffs needed for the more difficult PVE content. And once you got one of those top fishing rods and other equipment, it was possible to fish without needing to use consumable lure items if you put time into collecting the rods and equipment. So you could fish all day and night if you wanted to and not worry about running out of lures.
This game, all the different types of fish, when filleted, just give you generic fish, except for rare occasion when you get perfect roe. Imagine if [Slaughter Fish] that you catch in foul water, could be filleted into [Filleted Slaughter Fish] used as part of a recipe to increase stamina, another filleted fish to increase health, and another type of filleted fish that increases stamina recovery. Together it would make a food item when cooked that would increase health, stamina and stamina recovery. Another food item that would increase health, magicka and magicka recovery, etc. When filleted, under the new system you would still have a chance of getting perfect roe. An update like that to the fishing system could be called, Bounty of the Sea or something.1 -
