My favorite race. I just like them. They're looking cool and tattoos look badass on their (paler) skin. Darien Gautier is amazing as well. High King Emeric not so much. And Rivenspire!

I just love the Daggerfall Covenant and Bretons. <3

    Looks mainly.

Bretons and Redguards most closely match up with what we've got here on Earth.

All others are more alien. So if you are looking for a mostly "human" look Breton is a good choice.

(I almost forgot about Imperial, but you may or may not have that option.)

I never understood why people don't like Emeric. He's the funniest character in the game, for me, and his voice acting is terrific. His throwaway dialogue with Queen Maraya about their dog, her "skuh-lee-tal" appearance, etc., had me in stitches.

Too whiny. I think he is still the best leader (Ayrenn is great but she's too naive). Maybe the Stormhaven questline where he acts like a wimp put me off, don't know.

A boat is taking the three contested rulers of Tamriel and the Vestige to a peace conference, when the captain bursts in. "The ship is on fire and is going to sink, and the lifeboats are too far to swim. Get in a barrel and float to them, but you had better hurry, there's only four left and I'm taking one!" With that the captain runs out of the room.

Immediately King Jorunn storms out. "I am a warrior king, if I'm to die it must be in battle, not drowning at the bottom of the sea!" And they quickly hear the sound of the barrel hitting the water.

King Emric then gets up. "I am the wisest king in the land, it is vital to all of Nirn that I survive." And before anyone can say anything, he leaves, and again the splash is heard.

Queen Ayrenn says to the Vestige, "My people need me, but I know that you alone have the chance of saving us all from the tyranny of Molag Bal. As much as it pains me, you must take the last barrel so that you can save my people as well as all of Nirn from that tyrant."

The Vestige replies, "There's no need, your highness. The wisest king in the land just jumped overboard in a lead pot."

I play a Breton magblade in PvP. People deride the 3% cost reduction, but it was a benefit when you wanted to cloak a lot. I did some tests a few patches back. Magicka sustain worked differently out of combat. The things that contributed to it were:

    CP
    Atro Mundus
    Food / Drink
Cost Reduction (jewelry more so than Seducer)
    Potions

Magicka recovery bonuses from armor sets and jewelry enchants did NOT contribute to OUT OF COMBAT sustain. Realistically you spend quite a lot of time out of combat, in cloak, as you are approaching or scouting a fight, at least when you play solo.

I have put all this in the past tense, since I recently noticed that Shacklebreaker seems to improve my out of combat cloaking sustain now. Something may have changed, or I may have been fooled by the Shacklebreaker increased magicka pool.

I prefer a Breton for RP reasons and have never experienced the racial passives of an Altmer.

They all have bland, potato-like faces, so there's that.
