Best class for the impaired? Mostly passives/toggles?

So...another question comes to mind. My SO wants to play in a duo with me, are there any other classes that can effectively run a single bar setup and be as easy to play as MagSorc? I can obviously run the sorc with her also but since I'm missing 32 levels of rewards it might not be a bad idea to have an alt.

As for sorc...I hit 42. Currently running Blockade/Ward/Matriarch/Clannfear/Surge (will replace with inner light once I hit 50 on storm calling and move surge to backbar. Having a single ability on backbar isn't too bad and I honestly forget to use surge 99% of the time anyway even on front bar) with Atronoch as ulti. Will also likely be using the destro staff ulti, with meteor a long way off. Not sure I even need meteor since Atro is apparently better single target now?)

I'm actually getting close to 50, kind of exciting :P Honestly never thought I would be able to get there. Can't thank the forum enough for helping me.

    @sutasafaia ,

Now that you've gotten the hang of that "style" of play, you can probably make it work on almost any class with a little work:

For magTemplar: Blockade/Breath of Life (this is your "ward" replacement)/Inner Light/Entropy (morph to Disintegration and you'll get some self heals off of your heavy attacks) flex slot (i'd think about maybe reflective light? a nice 3-target dot with a long duration that doesn't need to be recast very often). Meteor, Nova, or Empowering Sweep for ult.

For magDK: Blockade/Harness Magicka/Molten Armaments/Cauterize/flex slot (Spiked Armor has a nice long duration. Any DK ult would be fine, but ferocious leap is the coolest animation in the game!

for magNB: Blockade/Harness Magicka/Disintegration/Inner Light/Funnel Health (don't use funnel as a spammable, just hit it every 10 seconds or so for the heal-over-time). Soul Tether for ult. Could throw cloak on for fun, too.

    For magWarden: Blockade/Enchanted Growth/Blue Betty/Bird of Prey/Lotus Blossom

Each of these setups would be really lowkey in terms of spamcasting, each gives you a heal or ward, and each lets you continue to use the same basic DPS move (blockade+heavy). If you can sneak the other DoTs, HoTs, and Buffs out, that's great! If not, just blockade+heavies and the occasional heal will clear most content.

It'll all work with the gear from your sorc, too.

One thing to note, you might want to get your sorc to champion point ranks first--the CPs you earn can be applied on future lower level alts, which makes them significantly more powerful then they'd be if you started an alt right now.

That's good to know, thanks. I may just end up having my sorc tag along with whatever they're doing since scaling will make it work more or less no matter what.

So I've passed the 45 mark which means I need more advice. CP! As this is the first character I've ever had get this far, I obviously have no idea about CP at all. I've been hunting around the web for advice and there are a few obvious ones like +Staff damage, definitely some of the defensive ones for reasons, but beyond that I'm really unsure. Especially with the jump points and trying to decide what's optimal and what isn't (like is going to 100 for a skill ever good?), on top of there not really being a lot of HA pet/ward builds floating around apparently...I just have no idea where to really begin with this. Apparently there are several nodes that benefit lightning staves though, so that's a nice thing.

I'm hoping to hit 50 within the next two to three days, maybe even today since I have the day off, so it seems like a good idea to try and get some advice before I actually need to put that advice into action. Figured if I just continue to bump this post it's better than starting new ones, right? No need to clutter up the forum.

So with CP, you rarely (if ever) want to invest 100 points in a single star (as you increase your investment in a star, you decrease your returns). Instead, you want to spread out your CP in all applicable areas.

You also want to hit "jump points": CP round down to the nearest whole integer, so if you are choosing between taking crit damage up from 10.1 percent to 10.9 percent (both of which round down to 10) or increasing elemental damage from 5.5 to 6.1 percent, the elemental damage investment is better (as it raises the actual applied number from 5 to 6.

Don't sweat perfection in CP allocation at this point (or ever, really), as you are looking at a few % differences, tops.

    So for your build:

For blue CP, prioritize Apprentice constellation to get the "Spell Precision" passive after investing 30 points. Spread them out between Elfborn, Elemental Expert, and Spell Erosion. You may as well keep investing in this area for your blue points until you hit the 120 point passive, then start investing in Staff Expert and Thaumaturge in the other two blue constellations.

For red CP, split between Hardy, Elemental Defender, and Thick Skinned in the Lady constellation. It's also worth investing a little in Bastion, over in the Lord.

For green, none of them are super helpful to you on a true heavy attack build. I'd make sure to invest enough in the Tower constellation to get the Inspiration Boost passive (at 30 points) if you are leveling crafting on that toon. The 10 and 75 point passives in the Lover constellation are really great for convenience passives, too.

Pet / heavy attack mag sorc. Very low skill required to get exceptionally high damage with no resource management at all. It is almost like your just queuing up your actions like a turn based MMO of old.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Okay guys, it’s time to let this thread go. It’s too long, too cumbersome, everything that’s needed to be said has been said. Just take it to private messages. Please.

Disagree. The recent posts are all still aligned with the original topic, and still relevant. The thread as a whole is helpful not only to the OP, but to anyone else who may come along with similar needs or play preferences.

I genuinely apologize if my thread somehow offends you. However, it has manged to move me from point A to Z in a big way. From being unable to play the game without pain to being able to enjoy the game quite a bit. While a controller or gaming mouse might help even more those are both currently not in the picture for me. As well, the thread may help others, as was noted. Again, sorry for the inconvenient of this thread, but it's certainly serving its purpose in my opinion.

    Anyway...

    I finally hit 50!

I did a basic CP setup. I'm sure it's terrible, so...obviously going to need advice on it. The only big thing I changed was Apprentice. I didn't see the final tier thing being all that useful since I'm normally at range, normally solo...why focus on getting a 2.5 meter proc? So this is what I've ended up with. I'm just assuming this is borked in one way or another :)

Especially with the blue points, I'm guessing they aren't actually distributed in the best fashion for my damage? The other two trees seem...ok...but I'm worried about blue. I'm nowhere near well played enough to understand exactly what gives the best damage. Particularly in regards to aiming for two of the 75p passives in blue where I'm not even 100% sure they are actually benefiting me that much compared to just dumping those points into other things. Like I said, blue bothers me a lot. Need lots of help there more than likely?

For green, how are they not useful? All sorts of defensive things. I get it's more of a PvP tree but it's not like I'm not dodging/rolling and stuff in PvE right?

Also, I tried to take into account jump points, but I have no idea if the calculator I'm using is 100% accurate for percentages? Obviously some things may shift a tiny bit, but the general idea should still be the same, yes?

    Ritual
Thaumaturge: 81 (figured the 75p thing was useful)
    Atronoch
    Staff Expert: 77 (again, 75p)
    Apprentice
    Elemental Expert: 32
    Elfborn: 40
    Spell Erosion: 10

    Lord
    Bastion: 61
    Lady
    Thick Skin: 56
    Hardy: 43
    Elemental Defender: 43
    Steed
    Ironclad: 37

Shadow (I really wanted the 75p thing for shadow...)
    Shadow Ward: 40
    Tumbling: 40
    Lover
    Arcanist: 64
    Tenacity: 64
    Tower
    Tower: Warlord 31

Anyway, obviously I don't need 100% exact points figured out, but this seems like a good idea to at least get a baseline? Help hugely appreciated.

And thanks again for helping me get my first 50 :D

It's not so much that they aren't useful I guess, but that there is no "right" way to distribute them. At endgame, you can do a pretty easy calculation to tell you exactly the best "blue" cp allocation, but the greens are more flavor/optional for most PvE applications (with the exception of tanks and block cost). Most people put a ton of points into magicka regen, but you don't really need regen on a heavy attack build.

Beyond that, it looks like you've got a pretty good basic layout there.
