$40 freaking dollars for one motif???!!!

I would like to get the Aldmeri Dominion Motif. I checked the store.... 5000 crowns, which just happens to be $40 to buy. What....the....crap...????

Is there any other way to get this motif? I haven’t robbed any banks lately so I can’t afford the exhorbitant pricing for this item. Horrible Zos, just horrible.

As SirAndy said pick them up from guild traders or roll a AD character and farm chests/treasure maps in Cyrodiil.

Normally the most efficient way to get motif pages is to far the easier, better selling ones, sell them, then buy ones you want.

Yeah, they’re not that expensive at the guild traders if you spend some time to find a good deal.

As others have said, you can get it in game. It should be under 10k per page and maybe much less than that if you shop around.

I agree that $40 is massively overpriced for that motif, but at least there is the option of picking it up in game and for a relatively reasonable price.

Please please spend the 40.00 t0 buy the motif? Zenimax servers are soo bad and it has to be because they just don't have the money for better servers.

Also can do chests 'rift' events in IC/Sewers. Those chests drop them a lot, but since nerf at patch I don't know how much less often.

They had better servers when they had fewer players. The servers are getting worse because they're spending less on them, not because they're making less money.

Yes its there but why would you spend that much when you can just buy pages from guild merchants?
I'd recommend this site if you're looking for specific pages.

I bought all 3 House Chapters in the game. They and the other Morrowind Motifs rarely ever dropped for me, but did so for others. I rewarded them gold for their efforts and to save me lots of time.

I strongly recommend getting it in-game. The Alliance War styles like Aldmeri Dominion are incredibly cheap on guild traders, where you can spend in-game gold on them. You can also farm them up yourself if you have a PvP-ready AD character and look up how to get them. Almost every single motif is available in-game in some manner like this. The only exceptions are seasonal cash-shop-exclusive offers, of which there have only been two so far, and they are only available for like two days out of the year.

The cash shop prices for motifs aren't likely to be high because they expect people to be able to afford them. Rather, they are likely that high because they are taking the risk that people wouldn't buy them off the cash shop (even at a much lower price) with sufficient frequency to make up for the few they do sell at the high price to people with more money than sense.

I'm glad I saw this. I just needed one piece of one of the motifs in the crown store (the chest). I was debating buying it with cash and saw this thread and your comment. I knew if had to wait until it dropped for me it would months and possibly never.

So I took a chance, pulled up a certain website that lists all the traders ... and there it was for 5k. I snapped it up for 5k in-game gold! And now I have my outfit with no cash spent.

Join a trade guild, get gold, buy motifs with gold. Really no need to spend any real life money on motifs. I know there will always be people who don't mind paying RL money on content, but you really don't have to.

Just when I was about to go all in ESO and spend all my money on the game, stuff like this, I just don't like the practice Zenimax is doing so now my money is going else where. After all, $50 in my case I believe I can buy another complete game.

I guess Zenimax doesn't want my money, they keep doing things to keep me away sadly.

Dolmans and chests in Cyrodil and Imperial City drop them if you're playing an AD character.
