When are we getting that option to turn on friendly damage graphics?

It was mentioned a while back. I’m having a real hard time helping people in a dungeon when I can’t see what they’re doing.

Settings -> Video -> Show additional ally effects (you need to scroll all the way down to see the option). Hope this is what you mean? :)

It's already in and switched on as default if i remember right
You just see the cast and then nothing

Friendly damage graphics, not enemy damage graphics.

Yeah, just the cast. You can tell really well when you see someone cast caltrops.

It works the way you would expect it to, but there have been times where it stops working for me. Relogging or changing zones fixes it for me. I'd not be surprised if you needed to do that when first changing the setting, too.

I haven’t seen this on PS4. I’ll have to look again, but I believe video only gives us options for screen size and graphics.

Can't vouch for consoles, but I hope it's there for ya. I know what you mean about being able to see what others are doing being important if you're trying to keep an eye on what they're doing, for the sake of helping them.

Be sure to dig through all the settings. I use the controller UI on PC, and am aware that many settings live in different places from PC to console interface.

It's under Gameplay, not Video. At least that's where it is for PC.

I just scoured the options and it’s not there. Is this the part where we tag all the Devs in the post and say pretty please?

Even tanking. I have no idea if I have the the boss on the dots unless there’s a destro ult or liquid lightning on the ground. Even then, is the liquid lightning 20 feet away because I pulled the boss back to the wrong spot? Or did the sorc drop it there because he’s aiming at his waist instead of his feet?

Yep, there's no such settings in gamepad mode.
On a PC in a keyboard/mouse mode they are under Video settings. In gamepad mode there're only brightness settings, fullscreen/windowed mode and resolution, nothing else.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

Yeah, not being able to see where most of the damage dealers' aoe is can be a hinderance for tanks, for sure. Pretty sure we've all been in groups where the tank is the only one that actually has a good idea of what's going on, and right or not it's kind of on you to just put the boss where the Endless Hails and Elemental Blockades overlap. Kinda hard to do when you can no longer see them. Definitely should have an optional setting for this reason alone, in my book.

That said, as a rule, unless someone in group communicates differently you can safely assume that if you hold the boss still and face it away from group then wherever you put it is "the right spot". When you notice people missing their aoe skills by a mile, you can kindly remind them to aim for the toes, not the face, and around 90% you're right -- they didn't realize they were missing the target, and they weren't trying to indicate to you "STAND HERE TANK, I'M A PRO AND KNOW WHAT'S BEST HERE".

All this is probably beside the point for ZOS, though, as I believe friendly aoes were taken out of the game (by default, at least) to improve the performance for users in situations where there were just too many effects bogging down the fps. Not sure what else can or will be done about that, but I wouldn't expect any further solutions that "make room" for friendly aoes to return (by default / for consoles) any time soon.

    This, 1000 times.
I am very unhappy about this, am I pulling enemies out of dots, are the dps even doing dots. Also I miss seeing the volley arrow rain animation, one of the greatest looking aoe imo

I hope the change it so the default is on when they make the game utilise more of the GPU. You see so many tanks pulling things out of Ultis and ground effects
