Anyways I can decrease ping?

Just play open world pve and that's it. On a good day my pings at 120 as the low. I live in Ohio using at&t uverse 50mbs. This is the only game I have ever played with such high ping.

Would going on a vpn set for closer location to servers or using a vpn at all help? Is there anything I can personally do to help this or is the game servers this bad? Like I said it's only this game. I don't lag in any other games and pings usually 80 at max elsewhere

Basically if you have good internet, there is nothing you can do.
I doubt it will ever have the performance of a AAA title.

Yeah.. 120 is stellar for ESO, or most MMORPGs. Network performance is not your issue.

Only thing people can do is have a robust provider and make sure your Internet connection is wired, not WiFi.

120 is not high for this game. I ping to PC NA for 115-150 during the good times and from what i have read and who i talked to that is about as low as your getting for ESO. I ping 30-40 to the coasts from the midwest.I dont think you could get below 100 ping even if you was in the cafe across the street from the servers.

You didn't describe how this really high ping affects your gameplay. For me, if there are more than eight players on a dolmen, I can't see the enemies, apart from the red dots. But I only play dolmens for the green rings.

From most of Europe it's 250ms and you consider yourself lucky.

I moved out of Europe, have a massively awesome ultra-wide low latency symmetric optic fiber and I still get from 70 to 150. Everywhere else, I get 20ms.

my lowest is 99ms. My usual non-laggy average is 133ms. At peak hours and crowded areas this goes higher... On maelstrom arena its around 200 -/+ . On cyrodiil...well that's a lost case really...

for crying outlod, i never get 300ms below, here in the Pilipinas.

but i stick to it coz i am a diehard fan of eso.

Use google namebench to find your optimal dns settings.

I have gone from unplayable unable to bar swap to being all to pull 37k on a dps dummy just by changing my dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Maybe don't use at&t. Like you I live in Ohio and use Buckeye broadband. Not available in all of Ohio, but it's far superior than any other ISP in Ohio. I rarely go over 90ms. But I'm also in the city of Toledo and it might be different if you're in a rural area.

In India it's more like 300ms to 400ms+

Make this an international game please, instead of just American and European
