What Race For MagBlade?

As the title says, what is the best race for MagBlade.. I think I'll mostly be focusing on PvP..

Argonian by far. The sustain given by the potion passive is so powerful (and frankly overtuned) that you can afford to build in more damage than you achieve on an Altmer or Dunmer build, even assuming the Altmer or Dunmer builds don't have as much sustain. The additional healing also plays to magblade's strengths very well.

Altmer are still BIS for the outfit system, though.

Argonian, sure. Dunmer would also be best for bomb builds and if you plan to do any pve dps with the same character

Argonian for pvp imo if you want to play healer or more of a brawler type playstyle.

Altmer if you want to play more glass cannon or stealth based, relying less on heals and sustain.

Here’s what I’d do.

Figure out a couple of different setups you want to run. Go to the build editor and input them and check out the difference between Argonian, High Elf, Dunmer, and Breton.

Imo, Argonian is the best all purpose choice. But my current build is actually stacking enough regen that High Elf will outperform Argonian for magika sustain, this then means I have to compare the healing done and HP vs superior max magika and added flame damage. Since I use Reach there’s a compelling argument for me to go back to High Elf.

That’s just one example, I’d suggest you get numbers for specific setups and see what you’re looking at

Dark Elf for pve if you min max but high elf is good too there is minimal damage differrence but if you go for sustain then either argonian or breton but tbh you can sustain a magblade with any race

Really think about whether you intend to do competitive PvE (i.e. Trials) in the future. Dark Elf or otherwise High Elf are basically a requirement for joining a decent PvE guild as a mageblade. The elf races are more versatile between PvP and PvE.

If you have another mageblade for that purpose and only intend to PvP with your new one, then I'd also recommend Argonian. The Resourceful racial passive is literally the strongest sustain passive in game and the healing bonus works very well for a class that relies mostly on HoTs for heals.

I just started a magblade and was deciding between dark elf or argonian. I chose dark elf because of the fire damage, and fire resist for vampire, and for looks.

Because of her ash skin tone she literally looks like a Daedra when she wears the dark seducer costume. I can imagine what she will look like with other daedric looking armour/ costumes.
Definitely looks badass.

Not really. Dunmer is a pretty poor choice for StamBlade. Wood Elfs, Redguards and Orcs are vastly superior and even Kahjiit and Argonians would fare better.
