Why is every Magicka DPS mostly the same?

This is exactly why ZOS continues to meddle with skills in order to try to create an artificial 'diversity' instead of just letting players play how they want. The only way they will TRULY create diversity is by giving each skill a Magicka and Stamina morph and each weapon dual morphs as well... this would allow a huge amount of diversity into the game.

But thought I'd also add... mundus stone options have changed a bit with new sets added and mundus changes, I know I run Apprentice now. ;)

I agree on this (and I think I already mentioned it in this thread last year). Every skill should automatically be either Magicka or Stamina (your highest stat defines that) without the need to morph a skill into either version.

Oh and keep in mind, the first post in this thread was made one year ago. :)

It's not like every stam build uses rending slahes, endless hail, caltrops, and trap...oh wait.

    I agree with OP.
When I think back about WOW , for example, I remember how every class was so different each from other and they all even had special fun skills, like Ghost Wolf! Rogue will never have access to warrior's or shaman's skills, every class has its own playstyle.
Not in ESO - all magicka uses Wall of Elements, same as every stamina Endless hail, while so many other skills are just left out useless, because they really are!
I even think that most of quests here fell just into two categories :
Hey, you, come over here, we were ambushed, rescue my buddies and kill bad guys
    or
There is this evil cult out there trying to summon big bad daedra, now we need you to deal with it - no mage/fighter or whatever guild can do it, only you can save us.
And that's it for almost majority of game quests. I even didn't bother to buy Morrowind expansion, because I already can guess what quests await me there...

You see this because people tell other people they need to go to X or Y website and watch X or Y video and be that build.

The other part is the game changes so much people often find themselves spending time trying to figure out what’s good and bad.

So whether it’s by means of a build or guide or by means of changes, if you play long enough you’ll end up with similar choices due to it all

    Yes its players fault.
Add that the underlying mechanics in ESO is complex, way worse than ketbal space program who is just rocket science.
Even if the complexity give lots of options.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Yeah and I pushed it because within one year absolutely nothing changed and the topic is still important. It's not an old issue, it's a recent issue.

The game changes so much but builds don't like it seems. I can go back to Feb '17 and most builds now look exactly the same like the ones from last year. So within a year really nothing crucial has changed although the game itself changed a lot. That's my point and the underlying problem here.
