Growing Swarm
- Unleash a swarm of Fetcherflies to relentlessly attack an enemy, dealing Magic Damage over 10 seconds. When ability ends, fetcherflies infect up to 6 new targets.
- Spreads to nearby enemies.
The concept of this morph is really cool (spreading to nearby enemies), but the problem with this morph is that it lacks practical use across Tamriel:
1) Overland - it's rare to see more than 3 enemies grouped together, and enemies drop easily and quickly
2) Dungeons and Dragonstar Arena - most trash mobs die at the same time (due to nature of AOE attacks)
3) Maelstrom Arena - enemies mostly come in different waves and often die at same time (due to nature of AOE attacks)
4) PVP - When players ball up on each other there are usually cleanses being thrown out left and right
5) Trials - I don't have a lot of experience here, but based on forum feedback about lack of MagWarden DPS I assume this morph doesn't get much play in trials either
So... why use this morph at all? It doesn't appear to fit into the way ESO combat is designed.
Potential ideas for change:
- AOE placement (select a spot and the Fetcherflies swarm that area for 10 seconds)
- Multi-target dot upon cast (see Templar's Reflective Light)
- Swarm shrouds the caster and gives Major Evasion (self-buff)
- Swarm targets allies to offer a stamina heal over time (my personal favorite and makes stamina healing more interesting, which is why I'm putting this in bold)
