Can we have an invisible motif

Would be nice if an 'invisible' motif was added so gear pieces could be hidden via the outfit system.

Was trying to figure out if this thread would be about a motif that makes the character invisible
or a motif to run around in our underwear

    it appears to be neither,
but going to lump it in with the latter

You know, I have not done much with the Outfit System, as all the armor I make looks good, or I use Costumes.

So, just wondering, if you make an Outfit that does not have say, Shoulders, does it hide the shoulders?
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

It will show the shoulders that you equip under the outfit.

I have been carrying around level 1 pants, shirt and shoes since launch that I used as a fishing outfit for my first character. With the introduction of the outfit system, I recreated the outfit, but it is no better than the level 1 items, because I have to remove the belt, helm, gloves, & shoulders to get the look I want.

We already have costumes that have no pants, no shoulders, gloves, shirt, etc. so why not give us the ability to remove them in an outfit?

    You mean in-game, yes?

One problem with running around in that black placeholder underwear is that it's not lore friendly and looks like something Mom ordered from the Lane Bryant catalogue.

Not that much of a thrill.

If they're going to go that route, they should design some race specific undies and give us some color options. But would the Nords wear theirs fur side out or fur side in? Pretty sure the Argonians go commando, and the Dunmer would wear something awesome.

But really, I'd be thrilled with a hide shoulders option.

You're either asking to be a disembodied head or running around in your undies. Either way... No!

I assume they mean to be able to HIDE their shoulders etc. I too would like to hide shoulders but I am sure they can just add a hide etc option for all pieces of gear since head already has this option. Of course then you would have ppl running around in heavy armor breastplates and underwear but... whatever floats their boat I suppose.

I think the best ones so far I've seen are the light Dwemer shoulders and only because instead of being on the actual shoulder they are on the bisceps(?). They look almost like little pockets

Dark Brotherhood (all weights) and Skinchanger Medium do the same. Thieves Guild and Outlaw can be used for a more harnessed look that is still attached to the upper arm rather than resting on the shoulder. Mercenary (all weights) only show on the right shoulder on my character which makes it nice for archers (but not sure if that's intended or buggy). Many of the stole-like epaulets can be used for a shoulderpad-less look (Soul Shriven works very well I found), but the fit may depend on what chest piece you are wearing under it.

I've seen more on others that I didn't recognize, I only have about 2/3rd of the motifs so far myself. There are options, but many of them are hidden in less common motifs.

You people are watching too much Harry Potter.

Invisible gear wouldn't turn your character invisible, just like Frostcaster gear doesn't turn your character frosty, and Daedric gear doesn't turn you into a Dremora (or something along those lines).

I know but the topic tho....i mean what else would an invisible motif do?

    1. Make you invisible
    2. Make your clothes invisible

And how would we find it....
    I mean aye...

They had an invisible motif, but one of the devs set it down, and they can't find it. :sunglasses:

Seriously, I would be fine if they just extended the "hide helmet" to some of the other armor locations. I don't know if they need to do ALL of them, but I know shoulders would be a popular one.
