they gave us only one free slot for outfit, and without a general option this slot is lost for people who just want to hide helmet.
in my opinion this is a very clumsy method to get more money.1 -

I've read speculation that it was done to make the hide helmet stuff more accessible for console. However, I agree with your reasoning more. It fits a push for monetization and could explain why zos would decide to scrap and redo a known, tried-and-true system that worked with addons with one that has weirdness going on with polymorphs and disguises. Early on I thought the hide helmet deal in outfits was going to expand on the hide helmet in settings, not be a part of a not urgently needed rework.1 -

✭The hide helmet works perfectly fine for me, for characters that are using costumes, outfits and base armor.
I find the disguises ugly as sin so I don't use them and can't talk about them. The hide helmet option should work on them too, though.Kiss the chaos.0 -

but a better description is it did not need reworking
previously you ticked 1 box, now you have to find all 3 locations and jump through hoops, I can only assume the UI designer was on an hourly contract & wanted to maximise it

It doesn't hide the helmets of disguises - that's the problem.

That's where you're wrong. Only the torch bearer within that small quest area can make you lose their specific disguise, meaning you can literally go anywhere else with them. Some of them are unique like the goblin 'polymorph' disguise (also with helmet) or rare like the barbaric style so they're definitely worth keeping to many people.0 -
Annalyse✭✭✭✭✭I had to stop using disguises because of this, and I quite like some of them. Mostly though, I used one on my one vampire character to hide the awful appearance. I have since just cured her because I was only really keeping her a vampire in order to help out people needing bites (she'd been reduced to crafter only), but I hate helmets too much to bother now.
Not sure why they removed this functionality. It also makes it annoying on quests in which you are forced to wear the disguises. I hope they fix it in the future.Edited by Annalyse on March 11, 2018 10:37PM0
