Stam Sorc Race Choice - Imperial vs Orc

For the update tomorrow I want to create a Stam Sorc to take advantage of the new presents we get while leveling! I am debating between an Orc and an Imperial. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The question is Orc or Redguard, really. I dont really find picking Imperial for Stam Sorceror beneficial anyhow.
Orc will hit harder with Dizzing, Redguard will give u better sustain. Work with one of those mate, u wont be dissapointed.

Orc, stam sorcs don’t have much going for them right now except for keeping the pressure up with hurricane and hitting as hard as orcly possible. Prepare to struggle against better classes with evenly skilled opponents.

orc - troll king synegy+ movement speed is best thing on stamsorc. and the extra melee damage helps too.

I mean, Im playing an orc DK here, thats how good those passives are for me. (and not to mention troll king stamsorc/Dk can actually survive against defile stackers,this is very important in vivec since sooo many people are running around with defile skills and sets. and in sotha sil it gives you that extra survivability you lack from CP, in the form of a very strong extra HOT.)

Troll king is getting some nerfs bug fixes so the defile will now work on health regen from it, which is an indirect nerf to Orc in PvP, but its still better than getting defiled to death with a full stamina bar.

@Vapirko (and anyone else) what are the issues with stam sorc in pvp now? I could go with a Stam DK but they seem so.......slow.

Sustain is nice on Redguard but you can get absolutely fine sustain with something like bone pirate anyway.

P.s. stamsORC. How could you not.

Stam DK is the other difficult choice lol. Stam sorcs really just lack utility and class skills. You have crit surge and hurricane basically, bound armaments if you don’t mind giving up slots for the toggle. There’s no class based burst setup like stambaldes, warden or stamplar. You’re heavily tied to weapon skills. Don’t get me wrong I still love playing mine, but it would be nice if there were more stamina morphs of sorc skills. Stamblades and Stamwardens are at the top of stamina ladder right now.

@Vapirko Yeah - I get what you are saying. I do love my Stamblade - its probably my favorite of all the stam classes. But this way if i level the Stam Sorc I get more prezzies from ZOS lol!

NP. A heavy armor stam sorc build with crit surge and hurricane is definitely beastly. They’re good for dishing it damage in a group setting, but they’re hard in an evenly matched 1v1 or 1vX because you just don’t have much utility as I mentioned before. If you can learn to use the overload bar well this definitely helps to add utility but it can be really funky sometimes especially when you need it quickly.

Imperial.. they look better; an Imperial female in that Egg Sister get-up. Oh yeah, the extra stam and health racial passives of an Imperial are nice too.

Well, for PvE-wise, on my StamSorc (Imperial) you can't go wrong with Endless Hail, Caltrops and Hurricane. I also use Liquid Lightning. Even for a stam, it's about a 1k tick per sec. Drop that along with the other three I mentioned, and all adds melt within a couple sec and very effective against world and dungeon bosses. I sport 2H/bow on mine, so, Poison Injection, Forward Momentum or Rally, Brawler and Executioner add on to the higher dps. Plus, as a stam, you get good healing from Resolving Vigor, and you get good shield from Brawler and Empowered Ward. The ward may not be as strong as a MagSorc, but it works good with Brawler. For PvP, you can still use Hurricane, but swap to add Rune Cage. With the 2H, StamSorc are just still brutal with Forward Momentum, Dizzying Swing, Executioner/Reverse Slice, Poison Injection and the Hurricane; plus, the good healing from Vigor.

@GreenhaloX I thought about making her a PVE toon especially since I don't have a stam PVE char. I have one dedicated PVE toon - my Mag Sorc. All the rest of my toons are PVP. I enjoy dungeons and non vet trials maybe like once a week. But Vet trials though are definitely not my thing lol!

After playing for a few days I do think this char will be more for PVE than PVP. I love my Orc too!
