about the new outfit update

I was thinking to myself and then i realised that if you are able to put an overlay over your actual armor so theres no use in investing on styling your actual gear if you need to craft one ... it just took the whole point of crafting armor and styling it (if you need a crafted set of course) and just ruined it ... like really think about it , creating a full set with Nord style and just putting an overlay of the armor you want it to look like , its silly ...

If you are able to craft your desired pieces for your body armor, yes, the outfit system is basically giving you an extra costume.

For those of us who wear 2 dropped sets and haven't been able to change the appearance of our gear outside of costumes and disguises, this is a nice update that lets us customize our appearance.

Personally, if I were wearing a crafted set, I'd just treat the outfit as an extra costume.

The new outfit system stinks. As an ESO Plus Subscriber I can dye NO Outfit Armor and Shields yet I cannot dye weapons unless I pay gold. Explain why No Outfit Armor and Shields are free for ESO Subscribers and Weapons are not.

    Huh?

As an ESO+ subscriber, you can dye Costumes for free.

However, nothing about the outfit system was ever suggested by ZOS to be free for ESO+ subscribers.

One way to look at it is this.

My tank uses 2 pce monster set, 5 pce crafted set, 5 pce dungeon set.

    As a breakdown:
    Head: Monster
    Shoulders: Monster
    Chest: Crafted
    Hands: Dungeon
    Waist: Dungeon
    Legs: Crafted
    Feet: Crafted
    Weap1: Crafted
    Shield: Crafted

With this in mind, I can now change using the outfits the non crafted pieces only to better fine tune my style. I can craft my own style for the rest. This makes the outfit cheaper than making an entire new one, and if ZOS ever adds hide shoulders, I can also hide it through the outfit as well.

The outfit gives you an overlay of each individual piece and not a whole new make a costume.

I am talking about the NO OUTFIT option where you can dye armor and shields and costumes at no gold cost. Weapons are not included unless you use the OUTFIT option.

So like dyeing the normal crafted/dropped armor and shields? Normal dyeing has never allowed weapon dyeing, but I don't know why that's still the case.

How exactly do I apply this great new outfit system to 99% of my characters that are NOT CRAFTERS?

i think theres should not be any Overlay options like right now and that they need to change it so we will be able to change our actual gear style ...

motif knowledge for the purposes of outfit system is unlocked account-wide, after you log in on the character that knows them. think of it as dyes - only one character needs to have done the achievement, but all can use the dye. that said... get ready to spend a LOT of gold.

Known motives are account-wide. If your crafter knows the Buoyant Armiger style, all your chars can run around in that style.
