Why can't the European servers go offline for service at a more reasonable time?

Not really. Just because I am on NA server it does not mean I play "tuned" to the US time zone, you realise.

Also, just because the OP, in a very dramatic manner, expressed his/her dissatisfaction with minatance time it does not mean all EU based players are bothered by it. But I am speculating as we don't have any real data showing how many EU people play exactly during the time EU server undergoes maintenance.

Don't be silly, really, I am not here to display anything...well, maybe sort of "surprise" at how some people can't wait 2 or 3 hours without ESO. And I am not talking about situations like the one we're having now with the new patch...just in general.

Also, I am sorry for all you guys that have to wait till tomorrow. I wanted to start my first character on EU server.. now I too have to wait.
I also feel bad for console players who have to wait 2 more weeks... Think about that.

19.20 here in the UK that's 20.20 and 21.20 for others of us in Europe, depending on time zone.

And still no game!!!

wtf just heard 1am GMT on Weds 13th !!!

That truly sux.

For a 12 hour downtime ZOS should have delayed this until night / morning time

You were the one who used "only a few hours (3 max)" as an argument, why don't you respond to that now that I've called you out on it several times? Surely you were talking about the EU server, seeing that this thread is about that, and not the NA server. Or were you making the argument that severely prolonged EU server downtime is no problem because NA server only has 3 hour downtime max and only at a time of day when NA players work??

Usually, the weekly maintenance takes max 3 hours regardless it's NA or EU server ,no? THAT'S WHY I brought this up. More, the EU server maintenance takes time at the hours that most of the players are either at work or school, no?

I am NOT talking about this week issue with patch on EU server.

So, what did I not respond to exactly?

I would have expected you to respond from the view of logging into and playing the game on the EU server.

No. 5-6 hours, as stated in the OP, is more close to the truth here. But how would you know? You only login to NA after all.

I have friends who play on EU server. They're not bothered by the maintenance time BECAUSE a) they're at work, b)play in the evenings anyway (as I am guessing most players). And someone posted the hours during which the maintenance is done (and that infor agrees with what my friends say). I am guessing the hours are not convenient to A) retired players, b) ermmm... people working night shifts, c) the unemployed? Did I miss someone?

And why you are penalized? You aren't. ZOS is an American based company. They could just as well put EU servers offline a few hours later. Think about how it hits oceanic/ aussie players and don't be so entitled.

I don't feel entitled, but I am paying for ESO plus; and yes I understand about time zones, which is why the American and E.U. severs should be servised seperately.

No, but we, that play on EU, are still charged the same cash for worse service. We should get compensation when this happens. If you buy a product, be it online, in the real world, physical or digital, subscription or not, don't you want some form of compensation when the product is malfunctioning or not providing the service you paid for?

on topic i agree, EU definetly needs a an EU realm in EU, i can come up with other mmos like wow you bearly experiance anything about maintance in that game. Alos teher is a huge misconception about kids are in school in 3pm cos in central EU kids are at home at least 1:30 pm, including their parents, cos most of them are working to 1:00pm I am not mentioning afternnon and night shifts, who works for factory companies, but most of the bases in central eu works for only 1:30 pm and so does teh kids in school. and dont say ZOs can't afford EU server park to make a sepperated EU realm, because thats a lie

It's rather irrelevant whether the players most affected/annoyed are retired, night working, unemployed, addicted, have green or red hair etc etc. Why are we paying the same for worse service? Why is that suddenly acceptabl? Either give same service for same charge, charge less for less service or give compensation when your paid for service doesn't work. This should not be hard to understand, and it shouldn't be hard to implement either.
