Glass Motif

As stated in the patch notes, "The Glass Motif can now be purchased from Rolis Hlaalu, the Mastercraft Mediator with Writ Vouchers."

However, what was not stated was that ONLY the full book is available. I only have 5 chapters left and do not want to spend writ vouchers to buy an entire book when I only need 35% of it. Please add individual chapters, like with Ebony.

This change was noted as soon as the PTS started, so everyone who was paying attention ran around and snapped up all the pages they could.

Individual pages can still be manufactured and sold for as long as the glass motif fragment supply holds out.

They cost a bit more now, though...

I just went ahead and found the 5 pieces I was missing in guild trader this morning. Still would have been nice for at least the glass chapters to be available instead of being restricted to the full book since glass has been out a long time and there are bound to be plenty of people with only partial completes.

But hey, I guess that means I can keep sitting on my vouchers instead.

No more glass motif fragments from crafting writs then. Starting to really dislike the changes of this patch.

the motif fragment system was horrible. replacing it with one gold motif book from rolis is their acknowledgement and remedy of this.

Having to do master writs in order to get the motif opposed to just getting the fragments from normal writs is their 'remedy'? Maybe some things are better left without a 'fix' then...

They had already trashed the market in glass motifs by adding them to the crown store (and before that including them in the mega-drop events). It got to the stage where you couldn't give away glass fragments because you still had to pay 10k and hope that RNG was on your side... or pay 5k and get the page you needed from a guild vendor.

It's a shame because something like fragments adds to the point of doing writs.

In the end it's just a grind trade-off... what used to be a grind for fragments has now become a grind for master writs.

Dude, chill a bit. You might have noticed the very first comment to the thread was "hey, this was on the PTS" but said a lot nicer. No need to come in shouting 2 hours later.

Which, by the way, I was on the PTS and forum; left notes for things I checked out. I didn't spend every waking moment in the PTS testing every single thing and, among all the threads in the PTS forum, I apparently missed this one. It's easy to do, especially when there are a lot of things that are getting a lot more attention.

How many master writs is it? 300? Old system would be cheaper because of the gold temper cost for getting 300 master writs.

The full book for glass is only 180. Which is definitely better than 300 and great for those that have learned maybe one or two chapters, if any.

Problem is that the grind 'trade-off' makes it way harder to actually get the motif as the master writs are randomised and you have to have the style *and* trait *and* set to do them. Plus it's RNG if you get a master writ. Yes the fragment system wasn't great and grindy, but at least you got those fragments at a pretty constant rate. Now the cost of master writs will increase (further) in guild stores and you are even more reliant on the RNG of the right ones dropping for you. I'm glad that I bought loads of motifs over the last week, but I really feel sorry for people that want to use the house storage and outfit system without spending crowns and didn't get their crafting game up before this patch.

Anyway, ranting over for now

I'm not really surprised that ZOS adds more incitement for getting things with crowns.

Fair enough there are a lot of people asking about stuff that has been available to read/watch for a long time,

HOWEVER

1:- There are a lot of very bored EU players getting info they may have missed

and

2:- Some of us spend all our available FREE time actually playing the game NOT reading about it!
