Do you think the Dungeon-only DLCs are worth their price?

Shadows of the Hist and Horns of the Reach have been out for a while now, with Dragon Bones mere hours away how do you feel about Dungeon-only DLC in general?

Thus far they have only really added two dungeons per release, 3 sets and 1 monster helm for each dungeon with a myriad of achievements (almost entirely Veteran Mode based). As as a result, I've never really found them to have much appeal as an actual product. I made the mistake of actually buying SotH with Crowns before I was on ESO+, and it just feels like wasted money.

After all, what does your purchase give you: Group Finder "pollution" that nobody wishes to run with randoms, a handful of sets most of which don't see any use and for most of the population... 1-5 Normal Mode achievements then 20-30 Veteran Achievements and rewards that never gain progress as a result. It sort of feels like you've paid to be punished, in a way, since if you're not capable of running at the Veteran Hard Mode level you won't see a heap of the DLC's content to begin with.

Not I'm not saying "content for more skilled players is bad, dumb it down for us scrublets!", not at all. But these Dungeon DLC's are very focused on that particular group and they really don't provide much of anything to other players. Enjoy the Normal Mode story quest the first few days, the scenery and pretty things then... it's just another dungeon in the pool. Every Dungeon DLC I'm far more excited for the base Update that comes with it, like the Outfit System coming soon.... changes that I can enjoy for more than just half an hour. But then I'm not the target audience for this kind of DLC, I suppose.

It just seems strange to me, to go to the effort of making a DLC product that casts such a small net of buyers. You can buy them separately after all, but there's almost no incentive to buy them compared to story DLC's, Chapter's that kind of thing: they all provide far more content than just repeating the same instance until you're sick of it. If they weren't unlocked as part of ESO+ I'd be shocked if there were many sales at all (outside maybe PvPers looking at a new "broken OP" set, as has happened before... *cough*).

Am I too picky, and just not who ZOS wants to buy that kind of DLC: for me, a Dungeon DLC drop is just sort of there and the base game Update with it is always more exciting. Surely they could be made more appealing to a wider market somehow?

If dungeons are your thing, then i suppose so. If not, they'd not even be worth 500 crowns. The price is relative to what you want and if you'll use said content.

I don't feel like the Dungeon DLC are worth it. Yeah, I will help farm the dungeons but it is rather meh. If I wasn't a plus member, I would not bother with buying the Dungeon DLC.

Yeah, i bought the Hist dlc at launch and never touched it up until recently. I do now enjoy it, but given the chance again, I'd never have bought it. No intention of buying this one, just like i never bought Horns of the reach. I have played Horns, but only because it's included in my sub.

I feel the price is justified. Dungeons are new, some mechanics are also new, sets are definitely new. Compared to a price of an exclusive limited time only mount, price of dungeon DLC is great.

I think aren't, but I see a bigger picture. This is the trend. Bigger and bigger games, need lots of money to upkeep and sometimes small content come and the trend ... 10 years ago with the same price we got a complete game.

    Bigger picture to me.
I like this game, I don't know other mmo game with this peace, beautifull atmosphere.
If it is the price then I pay. I support them because if I see the bigger picture I like this game, and the game is better and better with every update and I want to play with it for a very long time.

When I feel this is a expensive game or expensive content just I think back to that games I regret.

    NO... not worth it

Those DLCs should be part of the base game.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

I used to hate them and think they are not worth it until I noticed that buying 1500 crowns costs the same as one month of ESO+, which is also 1500crowns + bonuses. Since then I buy dungeon DLCs together with one month of ESO+
(Note that I usually don't subscribe so buying the DLCs is still worth it)

I have about zero interest in dungeons currently so I'd personally say no. I'm ESO+ so get them included, but I highly doubt I'd pay for a dungeon DLC if I were not subbed.

    ^^^^ That.

At least for the time being, I am not up for dungeons. So, I wouldn't buy 'em.

Usually in the DLC dungeons, you get completely new mechanics, completely different scenery. If you strive to become a better player then this is a great thing since it allows you to improve in entirely new situations. The Dragon Bone dungeons are epic in every single way. The final bosses have great mechanics and the animations are absolutely amazing, I'd even say that they are almost Trial worthy design. And that's true for all 3 of the Dungeon DLCs. I'm actually hoping that we will see a Trial in the Summerset Chapter that expands on the mechanics introduced in these dungeons.

As far as values goes, its different for everyone. People who enjoy dungeons or doing hard content will love these types of dungeons. People who are less focused on this type of content won't enjoy it as much. In my opinion, this is why ESO+ is great (actually these types of DLCs are probably a way of promoting ESO+), because people who subscribe to ESO+ get much more benefit out of these types of DLC's since they don't actually need to buy them but can go there whenever they so wish.

Dungeons are my favorite content and I'll contentedly spend hours in there getting my new skin and toys. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing some variation on small group content, like a 2-man arena or a 4-man dungeon where you just stay in one spot and fight waves of mobs that come to you in varying mixes.

As I have absolutely no interest in dungeons... no, I'd never buy them and even though I'll get them as part of ESO+, I'm only interested in the base game additions.

If dungeon DLCs would include either a delve/a public dungeon or if the dungeons had a solo story mode (without achievements and with drastically lowered rewards), they'd be worth it for me. But the way they are... no.

Which basicly comes down to, do you like hardcore content, or do you play normals? If the answer is the latter, just get ESO plus for a month, run them until your sick of them, and then just stahp.

Also, when you finally do get a group, 99% of the time they all just rush forward, so you can't enjoy the story behind the dungeon. It's all just rush rush rush.

In another thread I saw some people suggesting a solo version or a 'story mode' version of the dungeons. Honestly I think it would be a great addition and give a lot more people access to the DLC that they previously wouldn't have had.
