I started as a purely PVE player who went to Cyrodiil for the fish.

    Yeah, the fish. Master Angler.

I went back for skyshards and delves. I came back for a little taste of PVP. I found an organized group that let me ride on their coattails until I found a PVP guild I liked running with and who was willing ot train a newbie who could at least stay on crown.

About a year later, I've got a healer with the Praetorian rank, so at some point I guess I became a PVPer too. :)

It's other, for me. Aside from vMA, vet trials, I'll PvE when I want to relax and actually enjoy the game (practically, most of the time.) I'll PvP when I feel angry or like a masochist, and I'll do vMA or participate in vet trials or HM when I am drunk-stupid crazy.

I don't really fit in any of those categories.

I'm primarily a PVE player but I do enjoy PVP too, I just don't do it very often.

It's like most of the content in this game, there needs to be an incentive. I don't run dungeons unless there's a reason, completing the quest or achievements or pledges or whatever.

It's the same with PVP. I'll do a month every now and then for new motifs or transmutation crystals or whatever but when you have crystals maxed and a reasonable amount of AP saved there isn't much to gain. I'll never be emperor because I can't play enough and I don't level just for levelling sake so not much of a draw.

I think a lot of people probably feel the same, actually. There needs to be real, worthwhile rewards in PVP that can be achieved by people who can't sit and play for 12+ hours a day. You'd probably find a lot more people would play it then

I’m evenly split. I used to pvp a LOT back when I was newer, but I guess the “new car smell” wore off a bit after a while, so now I just do whatever I feel like at any given time.

PvP is far too broken in this game to be enjoyable for me. I WISH I liked it more. I probably WOULD if they'd quit nerfing the sweet bejesus out of PvE skills in their hopeless quest for "balance" in PvP. Zeni, seriously, just admit that PvP and PvE are 2 completely separate games and give everyone skills and abilities SPECIFICALLY for one or the other and let players have 2 sets of bars, one for each activity. Really. Please.

PVP in itself is fine, it's the people in it that makes me dread it.
    Hoping for more playable races.

I just want werewolf to be viable in endgame PvE T.T (which not allowed according to PTS update 50)

There are a lot of good apples in pvp. The problem is that, as with other situations, it’s often the loud trolls that make the most noise.

I really wanted to like pvp in ESO back when the game first released. I've played a lot of MMO's, and none of them have had enjoyable pvp since the days of pre-cu starwars galaxies (which had empire vs rebel open world pvp on massive scales).

I thought that this game's pvp would be more like DAoC, given that a lot of the same people helped develop it. That wasnt the case at all.

Cyrodiil pvp would have been much better had they not gotten started with all of these ridiculous AoE caps and such. Every change they've made since launch has encouraged more zerging and less strategy when it comes to cyrodiil pvp.

I had also hoped for less bursty pvp where players are forced to win the fight more via resources than just one shotting enemies, but that didnt happen either.

I probably could have chosen the first option but this'll do. PvE has always been the play style that appealed to me most in these kind of games, but I enjoy PvP in Cyrodiil quite a lot too if not just as much, though I don't play it as often. In other mmos I just didn't like PvP much, so I would avoid it but ESO PvP sticks out to me and can be greatly enjoyable.

When playing in Cyrodiil I go back and forth between doing side quests/delves/skyshards etc. to joining the fun around the map as a solo following people or a part of a group/groups taking keeps, resources, scrolls. I'm not that great at PvP but usually the people around me in game help out greatly.

I got caltrops finally and will never, EVER, go back. Ever. Well, unless the Skoria shoulders go on sale at the vendor because I can't get those things to drop in Grilion's chest for nothing.

PvP(really though, PvDoor) is the worst thing I've ever done on the game. Two completely different mindsets, builds, and motivations.

Going round and round, capturing keeps only for them to fall 5 minutes later, folks farming AP on scrolls, and silly fights over a stupid farm.... and I thought PvE was mindless.

I enjoy PVP far more than PVE as I find PVE far too easy. I love the stories, the characters; the RPG aspect in PVE. It really is a beautiful game and the interaction with the environment is cool, but not challenging.

That said as a 90% PVP player I wish there was an option for new toons to go through some brutally hard fast arena like thing at level 5 that allows them to bi pass the same old content we have been through before and level to 15. It would be awesome if this choice like skipping Coldharbor would be given to say people with a Main who is CP160.

Its boring to go through the same old content again and again. I love crafting toons and theory crafting in general but hate leveling them up to 15 so I can try out the build or play with lower level friends in PVP. It would be cool if this said arena allowed you to achieve say 3 tiers of success and how many skill points and the rewards you received was based on how well you did. It should be extremely challenging content and getting to tier 1 should make you a very average 15th level player. Just my 2 cents.

Hate pvp. I think it appeals to that little spark of evil in people. Don’t even like duels I’d push duels into cyrodil given my way.

I’ve grown to hate PvP as well. Not dislike, but hate. It bring some out the worst in people without fail, and is a breeding ground for negativity and toxic behavior. It also doesn’t help that PvP in ESO is filled with: Exploits, lag, and greed-fueled politics. It used to not be that bad, but now...? It’s a laughing stock. Battlegrounds, Cyrodiil, duels... It’s all a disgusting mess now, that will never be “balanced”; or “fixed”.

The only time I set foot in Cyrodiil nowadays, is if I need something from within it. Otherwise? I avoid it entirely. I don’t even entertain duels anymore.

There is a large group of players that want Vigor and Caltrops and that's it. After unlocking those skills, they may never engage in PvP again. Besides, most of us play this because we wanted a fantasy RPG and not a fantasy COD FPS.

Quoted for truth. It’s so cringeworthy to the point that there are even players who hop around constantly like they’re playing a FPS, and utilize the jargon from FPS titles as well. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stumbled upon people dueling and would see in chat, “Git gud, trash. Rekt’d! Get exposed!”

    I play and enjoy both.

My biggest issue is the more they separate it with CP/Morphs the more frustrating it gets to enjoy both on one character without constant respecs.

I prefer PvE; I like co-op with good groups. I've had some good PvP experiences, but mostly they have been pretty negative. And I've yet to find any game which is good at balancing PvE and PvP, so for the most part, I'd rather games just be one or the other.

I like both pve and pvp but as has been said there is too much lag in pvp and it ruins the experience. Group battles where you can't even see the players on the other team because they haven't loaded yet. Loading screens that never end.

It's better than it was though. As long as my graphics setting is lowered lol...

I enjoy and participate in all aspects of eso, but I take none of it seriously except trials and vet dungeon simply because I don't want to be the reason the group fails. Love pvp, but not in mmmorpg's where the outcome is heavily influenced by numbers and stats and not player skill.

    @Exodium

C'mon now, the same can be turn around as in, I don't get how players can kill random strangers over and over and over and feel any sense of accomplishment not knowing if it was their gear, their stats, or skill that won the fight for them.

You pit two equally skilled players against each other with one in bis gear, including vma weapons and great stats with the other in subpar to average gear, who wins 9 out of 10 encounters?

Well, to me the original idea of "playing TES with friends" is what counts, i like this social aspect of the game - but "with" them not "against" them nor against those, for whom ESO is nearly just about PvP. I see not reason to engage in this, I do neither like the story of the fight in Cyrodil (especially not because it is made obsolete by "any race, any faction") nor the way in which it is implemented and featurized exploits like animation canceling and especially this twitchy "learn your rotation" thing is taking all the fun out of pvp for me.

But I tolerate it as in "it is there as well" and "a lot have fun doing this, so let them have their way" mentality for as long as I do not have to take part in it and they are mostly out of my sight. I want to enjoy the game world, play around with things at my own pace - which is snail-mode basically - craft some stuff and socialize with friends i am making throughout my game play. But then comes "ts" - I do not like ts because then it is mixed RL and VL and I have to deal with the horrific temper of some people and their foul language and attitudes - that is just a no-go for me, but as it is vital for group pvp, the whole of pvp is just not for me in this game. Can I do solo-pvp?- Well, maybe, I will try that and get my butt kicked - but that is as far as pvp goes for me in this game.
