I'm not sure which. I know there is probably better than the options I give but I don't know them or I can't readily get them if they ate from trials

    PVE or PVP?

What do you want to do with your gear.

I use Hundings rage and strength of automation, then bend my skills to use more physical damage than usual. Then I pump more cp points in to penetration

I did some tests and Spriggans actually did a little more damage though. I just wanted more weapon damage and went with Hundings rage. (too much of a cheapskate to get the jewerely for spriggans)

Briarheart is also popular for stamblades since they have high crit damage.

Overall Hundings Rage + Spriggans is versatile and easy to get combo. That you can use to do the trails to get the better gear.

When I'm farming dried blood for crafting or need to be extra sneaky, I use Night's Silence, Night Terror, Selene's

PVE War Machine+hunding if u have to hold ur stamsorcs by the hand in trial groups or hunding+vicious ophidian if you want to be selfish and show that no matter how hard you try a stamsorc will still beat you to it.

I'm actually curious as to what, or if I should run different gear than what I'm currently using for my stamblade.

I'm currently using Hundings + Spriggans + velidreth. While I have no intentions on changing the monster set, I'm following Alcast's 'rampage' build gear setup 2 from clockwork city patch.

Since he updated the main build to include Mechanical acuity and war machine (which I'm unable to find a single group to host nHoF), ive decided to just stick to my current build at the moment.

So really, I'm wondering if my current setup is good for end game, or if I should switch out hundings and spriggans for something else.

Your setup is fine. You are worrying over percentage points.

The only thing to note is Spriggan's is a selfish penetration set, meaning, it only benefits you. TFS is another selfish set. NMG, on the other hand, spreads that penetration debuff around for all stamina DPS. In my trials, I tend to be the Veli/VO/NMG stamina DPS.

That said, HR and Veli are solid foundation pieces. There is no *one* set for a good player. You'll want to adjust for the content. VO is a great set to farm, along with the one's from HOF.

...how? Off hand, I can only think of one morph that converts the damage type to physical. There are plenty of stamina morphs, but, last I checked, all of them still do magic damage after being morphed. And checking online, only two NB morphs switch to physical.

Automaton works best when you're using a lot of weapon skills. Particularly bleed effects. It might pair well with Blood Drinker, ironically enough. But, it'll underperform in comparison to Hundings, and there are better second set options for a NB. I'd honestly recommend Hunding's + Sheer Venom before Automaton.

    Don't use Automaton

    - Incap is disease damage, Soul Harvest is magic damage (won't be buffed by automaton).
    - Killer's blade is disease damage (won't be buffed by automaton)
    - Assassin's Scourge (Relentless Focus proc) is disease damage (won't be buffed by automaton).

don't use Automaton on a stamblade, it's a bad set. These 3 skills are the bulk of your dps.

Night Mother's Gaze + Agility + 2 Hundings daggers if you don't have access to trial/master/maelstrom.
If you have access to vDSA replace that with 5 NMG + 3 agility + 2 master daggers and a monster set (2 Kra'gh).

What you can do is to go to Craglorn, wait for someone to LFG for normal Sanctum Ophidia ( the call should be "LFM nSO") enter and farm Two-Fanged Snake and Vicious Ophidian.

VO jewelry will be blue, but it's fine, still better than Spriggan, as for weapons and body pieces, you'll get them blue then upgrade. VO is a fantastic set for sustain, and it's my personal set of choice for vMA. 5 pieces of VO will reduce the cost of your stamina abilities, restore 2k stamina every time you kill something and give you major expedition, on top of the 5% damage buff from minor slayer (3pc).

If you don't want to bother with TFS, go spriggan, but if I were you I'd keep a set of Night Mother's Gaze and a set of Hunding's Rage for your body, and use one or the other. Spriggan is only really helpful for dummy parses if you don't have access to TFS (TFS is better than Spriggan), otherwise NMG is better (group utility).

Hundings is a very good set for trials where someone is already applying NMG and Sunder, otherwise you can switch to NMG.

The reason I say NMG rather than Spriggan is because Spriggan gives you flat penetration, while NMG applies a debuff the whole group can benefit from, so it's more beneficial and you can keep it for the long run.

    Hope this helps.
    Safe travels.

Really, any of those combos aren't terrible. They're just not optimal. I'd probably go with Hundings and Defiler, if I had to choose, but if you get a crafted set, I would probably recommend NMG and Defiler. I've run that combo on my stamblades in the past, it works, it's good for solo and groups (although you may get some people whining about the Hunger) and it's easy to get. Pretty good set-up for a progressing stamblade.

Why NMG (Night Mother's Gaze) and not Hundings? Lots of people default to Hundings. If you're a progressing dps, I recommend not falling into that trap. ESO isn't a straight vertical progression type of game, there's no single BiS for most builds, there's many different things to consider, and that means everything is a trade-off.

    1) If you're not the bestest dps in the land, you can still be very useful in groups by providing utility, which NMG does (enemy debuff for the whole group) and Hundings doesn't. The other popular utility sets are Sunderflame, Hircines and War Machine, all dungeon/trial sets, so those can be harder to get (and WH is a massive pain to get). NMG is by far the easiest and most asked for. And it's a solid dps set all-around, even for soloing. You can't go wrong with it.

    2) If you're still learning how to deal with stamblade meta in this game, you likely won't be getting the most out of Hundings and you'll missing out on other set bonuses you could be using that could help you until you are a top tier murdering machine.

As for what I personally like to run: I love VO. I have my dps set up to run NMG/VO, NMG/TFS, Hundings/VO and Hunding/TFS, as well as Sunder as needed. My personal soloing preference is VO/Hunding, because even if I parse slightly higher with TFS, VO gives you a temporary speed boost when you killed something that's nice for just getting around the map, or in a crazy fight, as a gap closer since I don't use teleport strike (also VO's speed boost won't get nerfed like other gap closers in Update 17, lololol). So even if TFS looks better in the numbers, VO adds agility, speed and playability and it's so worth it.

Both VO and TFS are trial sets bu VO is easier to get. TFS only drops in Sanctum Ophidia, while VO drops in all three of the Craglorn trials. And if you run it with a crafted set, you can just focus on collecting armor and jewelry, and not worry about weapons, which are rare drops and heavily begged for/bidded for in many gear-farming runs.

    As for monster sets:

Kra'gh (Fungal Grotto 1)--probably one of the easiest sets to get, and luckily, one of the best for stamblade
Stormfist (Tempest Island)--really, better for stamsorcs, but not bad on a stamblade.
Selene's (Selene's Web)--good for stamblades, but of more use in pvp. Still not bad for pve.
Slimeclaw (Wayrest Sewers 1)--most NB builds rely on Assassin's Scourge (morph of Relentless Focus) for minor beserk but if you're not using that, you can get it from this set
Velidreth (Crypt of Shadows)--often regarded BiS for stamblades, as it pros like crazy and if it actually hits anything, lol, does a lot of damage. Plus the weapon damage bonus is great. I run it myself for the dps and for the lols. If you don't have access to this set due to not having the dlc or not being good enough to run this dungeon, do not feel bad. Kra'gh is your BFF.

I ran my stamblades for a long time without using a monster set. Now I always do. It just helps so much. If anything, try to get Kra'gh as soon as you can run vet dungeons. Vet Fungal Grotto 1 might be the easiest of all of the vet dungeons and it'll be worth it.
PC-NA since 2015. Tired and unimpressed.

Can confirm. Velidreth's vomit death proc is ******* hilarious, every time it goes off. It also has the side perk of being, legitimately, good.

Though, my favorite monster set for the sheer amusement factor is Maw, especially if you're in a group with other players who are also using it. It's not good for a StamNB, but just seeing three or four daedroth waddling after a dungeon boss is well worth it's price in DPS.

    Percentage points?

I run HR because NMG is only beneficial if 1 person has the set. In my experience, I tend to get grouped with players who run it often since its one of the more popular sets out there.

So should I replace spriggans with VO? or just leave my set up as its is? For versatility.

    Hunding's rage: Head, Shoulders

The best gear when playing solo is twice fanged snake, war machine and Kraghs... if you’re in trials you should be wearing a buff set (night mother’s gaze, sunderflame, or powerful assault) along with war machine and velidreth. If another stamblade or stamplar are using war machine then swap to vicious ophidian.

If you plan on running trials you'll want the Hunding's Rage and Night Mother's Grace creditable sets. You'll also need several variable sets to pair with. Twice Fanged Snake, Vicious Ophidian, War Machine, and probably even Sunderflame and Automaton. These aren't all requirements but it's nice to be able to swap around when other members lack sets.
