does anyone actually remember why the AoE cap was implemented in the first place? Im sure it had something to do with the impulse batswarm spam.

I am neither here nor there on the topic of AoE caps. on one hand it will make small group a little more viable as they can tackle larger groups, but on the other hand it will make organized large groups more powerful because well. . . destro proxy meta.

So its a change we'll have to adjust to. But because I have PTSD from the vocal folks that cried for noCP at Morrowind, and how quickly that was reversed - I just hope its not a change that we've all been asking for, because we've forgotten why it was capped in the first place.

AOE caps were in at launch, so before the whole impulse bats stuff. So if anyone thinks AOE caps ever helped anyone other than organized groups abusing them, they're wrong. Which is why people were so strongly opposed to them since the moment it was announced. A lot of people played GW2 which has aoe caps and correctly noted how terrible it was, and what it lead to.

Group size aside, large or small, removal of AoE caps will buff destro ult more than anything simply due to it consistently hitting more targets than anything else. If you took the last 100 instances where an ability hit more than 6 people, I'd bet at least 25% would be destro ults.

So as far as raw damage output goes destro groups and destro bombers will receive the largest numerical buff from this change.

Winners: Bombers, Groups with 6 or fewer players facing larger groups, Organized Raids with good healers

Losers: disorganized players running in large groups

My new motto: if you're squishy, don't stand by me.

And that put me in mid of a song... (Don't) Stand By Me

When the bombers come, and Vicious Death procs,
And the noob with low health fails to flee.
No I won't be blown up, no I-I-I won't kill my friends
Just as long as squishies don't come and stand by me.

Darlin' noobs, don't stand by me, ooh stay away Oh please
Don't stand by me Don't stand by me, stand by me

I just hope lags will decrease drastically. It only way how removal of aoe caps will help small-scalers who is not bomblade.
