I disagree!
In Blackheart Haven I have looted 4 chests and over 5 heavy sacks.

The vault (Daedric Embers Vault) in White Gold Tower (which conveniently can be entered without doing the dungeon but inconveniently will likely take twenty visits before you get anything like a SPC weapon) at 150 key fragments per key (1 key = 1 go), drops:

Spell Power Cure (LA)
Essence Thief (MA)
Brands of the Imperium (HA)

...purple rings are common, weapons and shields not so common...
