I would buy Morrowind, but that is simply because I like the Elder Scrolls universe way more. Overall, I think ESO is the better MMORPG.

It's an Elder Scrolls Online forum. Not sure why would you ask that question here? Is this meant to be a secret 'Japanese Manga Korean big swords bikini armour is better than ESO' thread?

Morrowind is rather beautiful and I enjoyed my time in vvaadenfel.
Battlegrounds works much better than Cryodil.
I am yet to try the warden but basically really good in PVP and pretty meh in PVE.

My opinion is that the base asking price is too much and I waited until it was on sale for half price.

I haven't, and was never tempted to play any other MMO.

I play both, I like both and I wouldn't want to quit either to focus on the other game. I don't even know which expansion I'd choose to buy first if I had to pick between them - I love PoF maps and the mounts and I've had a lot of fun playing them, but I love my Warden in ESO as well, it's exactly what was missing from my usual collection of characters. I'd probably pick PoF first, but just because I think I spend more time playing GW2.

(POF is Path of Fire - the latest Guild Wars 2 expansion.)

I actually really enjoyed both, but at the moment, I'm playing more ESO than GW2. My advice would be get both eventually, but buy the game you are enjoying the most right now. You get a new class to have fun with alongside Morrowind, but you finally get mounts in PoF, and new specs for everyone.

A warning about PoF, the meta events are nowhere as popular as in HoT. As a matter of fact, more people are still doing HoT events than PoF.

For me in terms of lore, questing and zone design (GW2 is much better than teso in terms of zone design - teso is too primitive and clunky in that way) PoF was better than teso, but I have here a lot of friends to play with so I'm mostly in teso

Morrowind. Elder Scrolls Online is a vastly superior game.

I have played both. I stopped playing GW2 about 2 years ago. Right about the time I had to decide whether to buy Heart of Thorns. The expansion was too much of an investment against the much more enjoyable ESO game.

I can say gw2 expansions are rly worth, maybe more expensive than eso poor dlc's...but those expansions are once per 2+ years and with big content with additional many things and those arnt bugged like in eso lol and you dont need to pay per month for other bonuses like craft bag which is in basic in bank in gw2

I say Morrowind but it's because I like ESO overall a lot more than GW2. Don't get me wrong, GW2 was fun when it came out but it never held my interest for too long so for me ESO is better (not perfect but I enjoy it more overall). Too each their own.

GW2 could not hold my attention, so that was a big consideration in not buying HoT. I decided not to force it. I have no plans to return to Tyria, so I uninstalled the game.

I rode the World of Warcraft train for a long long time, and picked up expansions through Warlords of Draenor. I kept that installed for a lot longer than I kept GW2 around, by the way. Yes, the expansions are bigger in WoW, and presumably in GW2, than what ZOS provides with Morrowind. I feel that ZOS is pumping out content at a good and steady rate, and that is not nothing.

Bottom line is that ESO has held my attention quite well over the last four years. That is something that GW2 and WoW were unable to do. Morrowind is more valuable than Path of Fire or Legion, when looking at the whole game.

My main problems with ESO are that they don't finish what they start, so things like the guild traders are still unfinished, they spend to much time on the Crown Store, and they have an annoying tendency to be extra tolerant and forgiving of some cheating, and of course, slow on the response to botting. It is not lag/latency, bugs, or combat balance for me.

ESO hands down. This coming from a GW2 vet and beta tester who even returned for a few months after PoF. That game has no clear identity or focus and combat is just a mess. ESO until another landmark action MMORPG comes along.

It is a bit apples and oranges. I bought both. But while I think technically PoF was a better deal originally seeing the amount of content and new stuff it has for it's price, even more if you count the still to come living story chapters you can unlock owning it and logging in at the right time for free.

In practice Morrowind is way better for me though as I enjoy ESO a lot more at the moment then I do GW2. I found Morrowind overpriced at first, so bought it on sale later, making it suddenly well priced for me and in that respect suddenly equal to PoF. So the pricing downside became a non issue.

So in sort there is no right answer. The better choice depends on your game preference.

i have both and i didnt like GW2, too outdated and pvp sucks ( when i say pvp sucks i mean i don't like the combat itself, i like ESO combat) that's probably a personal preference though
