Ancient Orc Motif Page Drop Rates

You need to re-evaluate the drop rates of the Ancient Orc Motif pages in both the Wolfgar Public Dungeons. To date I have ransacked both delves killing all bosses, mobs and checked every container I could find 6 times each solo many times not even running into any other players in the delves. I have yet to get one Ancient Orc Motif Page. Heck it could be my luck but I kind of doubt that especially after doing each 6 times. Come on ZOS your drop rates are totally ridiculous.

Yea the drop rates are horrid, I only found 2 since the dlc dropped and that's from going there almost every day to grind out champion points, I usually stay for an hour each time (length of an XP potion) and in that time I'm constantly killing mobs/bosses.

I found one the first day of release and have tried everyday since then with no luck.

I figure it would be possible to find them in guild stores but they are scarce there
as well; this tells me that everyone is having same prob.

They continue to market the game as casual friendly, they release paid DLC which as always, offers a great narrative, just like the entire game which is TESO.

However once again, they're out of touch with gameplay reward systems, specifically these hilarious drop rates and the fact we needed them to patch VMA weekly reward mail to included Maelstrom Weapons droprate increase.

You're better of never expecting drops, fortunately you can complete all content with crafted only gear and some jewelry which you can purchase from guild stores.

800 VR dungeons just to complete Ebon Armory v12, over 111 Dark Anchors for one v12 Shroud of the Lich item.

I was doing dungeon achievments yesterday and I found helmet chapter. Unfortunately I'm not sure if it was from the boss or mob. But I think it was a boss.

I found 6 pages so far, 5 from bosses and 1 from mobs. Had 1 dupe, but I traded it for another page

TBH, I think ZOS is starting to get on the right track. If you think about it: the pages are divided between the 2 dungeons so if you have the ones you need from 1 dungeon, you don't need to do the other. Or you can go and kill the bosses from that dungeon, then trade that page for another one that you don't have.

In a way, it makes the grinding for them a bit easier. I call that progress

But if only they could add more bosses to Rkindaleft, or increase the drop chances from mobs there to make things even with Old Orsinium...

And yeah, as mentioned: in the end...

ZOS: Don't wanna grind. How about your very own, complete Ancient Orc Motif Book. Now for only 5k Crowns!

Pass me a paddle, I am in the same boat as you OP. After running each dungeon 6 times and getting no motif drop from either of them, I have stopped doing them .. no point.. just waiting for them in the crown store now.

Don't you wish you had a search function on guild traders? Then you could sell those daggers and not spend a million years searching through motif pages to find the ones you need. But, yea... Wrothgar had some of the shittiest RNG, it was a very dark time.

Why would they make these drop a lot when you can just go buy it on the crown store. If you look you'll notice the ones that can be bought on the store seem to drop a lot slower from dailies, chests, drawers etc.

I have probably found a half dozen pages just from farming Rubedo in the circuit in Old Orsinium, havent particularly been looking for them

That's some fairly advance necromancy right there. There are much more recent threads than this on said issue. Try this one for example.

You can also find my fairly lengthy post on this issue on that thread, that should offer advice on how to farm them, and shed light to the mechanics behind it. The tl;dr of the thing however is, that they drop from bosses in Wrothgar Public dungeons. You have something like 3% chance of getting one when you kill a boss, and that there is a boss loot cool down involved making it pointless to kill more than one boss per 5 or so minutes. You can also get them from basic mobs, but that is like one in 10k chance of happening, so don't bother farming mobs. If one drops a chapter then cool, but do not bet on it happening even if you spend 100 hours farming them.

And yes, it is a ridiculously arduous chore, just like many many many other things that most people no longer farm. Easiest thing to do is to buy them from guild stores by farming gold. Expect to pay around 60k per chapter.

All I here, how u guys didnt ever loot a single one is total BS. I was grinding several characters in Old Orsinium and I can tell u that I was looting at least 1 per 2 hours, with killing bosses ofc. Still damn too high rate IMO.

Not keen on the public dungeons there, so have only cleared each one once. Got the legs motif from one of those two runs. So I had always assumed they were easy-ish as I'm usually that guy that gets nowt whilst everyone else spends hours linking all their goodies in chat.

Got 6 more pages from those writ boxes we got last year, then bought the rest at the time from guild stores as they were flooded with them.

You are going to be farming for awhile i have spent 4 hours in these dungeons and havent gotten everything i need. only have a few items left but jesus the drop rate sucks. All i can say keep at farming it
