Suggestions on Imperial City

I dont know if the devs want IC to be a barren and brutal meta wasteland, but if they do they are doing a bang up job.

But IC can be different and it's just whether ZOS wants it to be any different.

Suggested changes to Imperial City:

1) Remove it as a DLC and implement it fully into the base game.

All who own it from the store will get Crown refunds, costs ZOS nothing essentially. This is crucial!

2) Make the status of IC flags should affect Emperor in PVP, this is why DLC status needs to be removed.

3) Make Tel Var stones a little easier to retain at death, right now it's brutal and discouraging to most.

4) Make another way into IC and I suggest offering entry to IC at the end of a Battleground.

5) Make a 1v1v1 Gladiator Battleground for those Meta players to let them show off on youtube elsewhere.

This will bring players to Battlegrounds as well as IC and boost both of their population and action.

Battlegrounds also struggles and they keep making drastic changes to it, this will help both so much.

So when the Meta mashers are doing that we can actually get some kills in Battlegrounds.

Maybe.

Anyway..

There are probably other things that can be done as well but these easy things would help Imperial City flourish.

But that is the question, do the devs want it to be active or do they want it to be this brutal brutal brutal place?

Sometimes it feels intentional, and that's not terrible. Just would like to know the devs stance on it is all.

It's a gankblade's paradise in those sewers especially if you get them talking to an NPC. Brutal.

    -You should be able to queue into IC just as you would a campaign(but still linked to your specific campaign). Except when zoning, you go straight into IC, and avoid the time-sink run just to zone in.

    -Make key frags worthwhile again. With undaunted plunder generally giving people a veritable ton of Willpower, Agility, and Endurance gear, the desire to use key frags for these is practically zero. These sets are still good, but it seems rarer and rarer to see people using them for anything but jewelry now.

    Maybe have a way to trade in your key frags for Tel Var (in which case, key frags would have to be changed to Bound gear).
    (Key frags still usable for ICP/WgT gear of course.)

    -Tel Var penalty is pretty high, but I don’t mind it. But I like that it adds an element of danger, which usually equates to something being more fun. It’ll incentivize people to group for mutual preservation.


    Once people are in IC, groups will start flowing. Alliance fighting will be rampant, and fun be had by all.
    BUT!

    Right now the battle is getting people IN to IC. Maybe make some more furnishings purchasable only by Tel Var. Add some Tel Var gambling! This game is sorely in need of a gambling hall. Maybe have daily/weekly events in IC, but to sign up you have to pay the entrance fee in Tel Var (and you get the chance to win some good gear - perhaps gear included from Battlegrounds and Cyrodil).

    Give Molag Bal some love and add a few more potential sweet loot so to his table.

    1.) Enable siege in IC.

    2.) Limit group size to 4 and make everyone else an enemy (regardless of faction).

    3.) Make tel var more valuable.

    4.) Give us a reason to go into the sewers, the sewers are virtually always empty.

    2 will likely never happen so 1 will help with the common situations where a zerg group is just camping flags with earthgore and too many healers.

    This DLC had great potential and it's painful to watch it rot.

    The halcyon day’s of this game were when IC first came out. Never had more fun than when rolling with a sizable group to take Molag Bal. when you reach him, you find an enemy alliance group had similar plans. The battle for the fate of IC begins.....

    They should.never have put will power / ability / endurance in the dungeon mails

    IC should have been base game and that gear bound.

    How about gold BOP versions now only available for fragments or stones.

    Disagree on the Tel car loss, it should.be higher. 80% to bank 20% to monsters like before. It adds spice

    Add separate emperor of IC.

    Put capture points and objectives in the sewers.

    Let people buy gold mats with telvar.

    Make temple and memorial have 3 flags each so that groups would have to split to take them allowing and requiring more offensive and defensive consideration before just storming the flags.

    Switch the bases up top and in The sewers around on a weekly or monthly basis So that blues base is now yellow and yellow is now red and so on and so forth. This would require people to learn the other tunnels and drop points and change strategies. For example. I always know that in memorial i respawn 3 feet from the flag so D.C. Can make a stand there. If it alternated locations I feel like it would spice things up for a little while anyway.

    Add a separate AP leaderboard for IC.

    crazy how just about everyone in this thread can easily come up with three or four ideas for quickly improving the Imperial City experience...

    even more telling that many of the ideas are basically the same...

    sure wish zos would not only listen - but, put some resources in to implementing...

    1. They're not going to remove it from being a DLC and make it part of the base game. This much is clealry obvious. Players would just not play the next DLC or expansion bunking they'd get it for reee.

    Just not happening.

    2. Not happening due to reason 1.

    3. Getting Tel Var off other players is the reason for PvP in IC.

    4. No explanation was provided as to how BGs would help IC. Those in BGs want to play BGs.

    5. Doesn't seem to need nor have anything to do with IC.


    It's great to think of ideas. However, IC needs to succeed or fail on its own. Yes, Zos needs to do something to make it interesting. Their second idea didn't really do the trick. However, all the points brought up are ones that will either not happen are are not really relevant to IC outside. Of somehiw protecting the very thing we go there for, TV.
