Server Transfers, Ever?

Are yall ever going to impliment server transfers of characters and items?

A friend in England got me playing the game so I made characters on the EU server as well as the NA server. The EU char has gotten real lucky with the free crates and I have a lot of cool mounts, costumes, pets, etc. But that friend isn't playing now for personal reasons and likely won't come back for a long time if ever.

So I want to move one of my EU characters, the crafter, and all my collectibles to the NA server. Of course there is no option now for that. But Crowns are shared across servers so there must be some level of connection.

The "level of connection" is that the same bank account (ie, Crowns) can purchase things in both servers.

But other than that, it's separate databases stored on servers in separate continents.

You can create characters on both servers and the character limits are separate from each other.

The crowns only exist once per account (not per server), so if you spend your crowns on the EU server, your balance will go down on the NA side as well.

Additionally, anything you buy with Crowns on one server does not show up on the other server (so if you have costumes on NA, they won't exist in EU)

True maybe, but they could connect them. Don't know how expensive it would be though. But the company my best friend works for has huge databases all over the world and they are all connected so it can be done.

Other MMOs have this server transfer ability, there's no technical reason why this can't happen.

The only answer Zos has provided to this question is never again after the initial copy from PC to console which had requirements to be able to participate.

So the answer is yes, one time about 3 years ago and never again. Never is a long time so who knows. They may change their kindness eventually.

...and if they so choose, they could make it a paid service to transfer a character from one megaserver to the other, or one platform to another. Or perhaps a whole account content...

As of this point, they choose not to do this (the one time at console launch aside... which had been a little iffy through the way they implemented it, I recall people talking about an possible exploit through the "copy character" setup - give all your gold and rare stuff to one character, copy that one, transfer everything to the next characte, copy that one, repeat, and in the end, pool all your resources from every copied character at the new platform, multiplying your stuff... not sure if it was truly an issue, or just idle speculations on the forums, but...)

Sometime in the future, they might change their minds about this and choose to offer that sort of service (and if it was "transfer" instead of "copy", it would be less of an issue, right?). Especially if enough people would consider utilizing such a service despite it likely ending up costing a bundle of crowns...

    And that's how it is.

Me, I am happy with my characters as they are now, so i care little about the matter. Though who knows, someday that might change...

I wish you could mail stuff to the other server, even if it was limited to unbound items only, only within your account, and required a Crown token for each mail.
Of course then we'd get people mailing stuff like tempers from the cheaper server to the more expensive server, for a profit... so it's probably a good thing that it's not possible.

I've had a PC account for the longest for the sole purpose to have access to PTS before patches. The only thing stopping me from playing on that PC account is that I would want my in-game achievements to carry over along with anything I purchased from the crown store. I would pay to have even just those transferred. Hint hint ZOS.

No way am I collecting all those motifs again or doing some of the tedious achievements over again (master angler -_-)...

I'm quite sure the servers are physically on different continents and there are no connections between them.

nah u ll have to start over. i was in the same boat- made up an EU toon because the servers from austalia were performing bette rthen- slowly it began to degrade- and i went to usa- to enjoy those amazing 200+ pings. now this too has become a pile- and i am left with nowhere to go. but yeah you ll have to level up yuour toon from scratch. i tried asking devs, etc and they wouldnt do it. even top streamers ahve requested it- to broaden their market i geuss- and htey were denied.

just level it up again- its not so bad actually .

That isn't the issue. The toon on the EU server I want to keep is a crafter who knows a lot of high end recipes/patterns. I also got lucky with the free crates and have a bunch of cool mounts and pets and costumes. I want to transfer it all to the NA server.

For now I guess I'll just park those EU toons and let them gather dust. Maybe one day they'll offer transfers of toons and collectibles. If not they won't get played again I guess.

    Hey @DjinnRa

We understand your desire for wanting to transfer your character and its items due to the good fortune you had while playing. Unfortunately, we don't support server transfers at this time. Any characters you create and items they unlock are restricted to the server they are currently on.

The feedback about server transfers in this thread has been noted. Thanks!

i have ps4, xbox one and pc versions. I stay on xbox one due to the 4k update and lying on the couch but have a total of about 10k in crowns on the others.

They could easily move those but they don't want to.

What you suggested wasn't possible - your whole account was copied together (including your bank) so moving stuff between characters wouldn't work.

What did happen however was players who weren't transferring would loan gold and items to players who were for a week or so around the time the transfer happened. So when your account was copied it had thousands or millions of extra gold and items. Once the transfer was done you gave back what you'd borrowed, but on the console server you still had it.

It's a royal pain. Think of it this way. You have 2 million recipes on 3x5 cards and they arent in alphabetical order so you have to go thru each one until you find grandma's banana bread recipe. Now you have to take it and file it in some one else's 2 million recipes and have to sort thru all of those to see if the recipes have the same name(login). HORRIBLE amount of research. It's why it usually costs around $50 or more to do this.

I do know that when games start, they have an overstaffed dev team. Once live is stable, they move some people to other projects and basically have a maintenance crew that can handle some small DLCs. Im not saying this is how it is at ZOS, but that's the norm. So they really dont have the spare staff to do this. Cuz if they do start this, it's going to take more than one person because there is gonna be a flood of changes to start with.

My family moved to Europe. I am now 3 days into my new EU toon and it is terrible to have to start over like this after 3+ years on the NA server and having maxxed our pretty much everything the game has to offer. The game now basically forces me to either continue on NA with pretty bad latency or to start completely from scratch and redoing the last 3 years... I understand that copying over entire characters with all their titles, achievements, holdings, etc might be technically difficult but can we at least keep the CP level and the crown store purchases? I can live with having to farm all the maelstrom/trial and other gear and even researching the traits and losing all motifs is acceptable. A complete restart from zero is too much to ask though...

What I don't under is WHY would you go from NA to EU just because you moved?? I understand about moving from Xbox to ps4 or to PC but just going from NA to EU just because you moved?? Why? I have both Xbox NA "main" and EU and I live in Colorado and I get the EXACT same ping, speed, and fps on both NA and EU
