Honestly there seem to be boots everywhere these days. Rivenspire has more than one place where they usually are. Found a train in Shadowfen near a dolmen. I generally attempt to report all the people in the train but then I have to chase after them and hope someone doesn't mistake me for a bot.

Silverhoof is pretty popular on PC/NA with botters. Probably on EU, too, but I have never looked.

Bots there will run for several weeks before being swapped out with new accounts.

There are a half dozen places in the game where a ZOS employee stopping by every couple of days to ban bots would shut down a lot of bots.

Just to name six on PC/NA:
    • Percolating Mire
    • Reticulated Spine
    • Beach adjacent to Brackenleaf
    • Karthdar
    • Shadowhoof Vale
    • Hag Fen

ZOS ban em, ban the darn bots . . . Do you actually have GMs, do they actually do anything? No seriously, I haven't seen or heard from a GM since Beta. I've reported bots on several occasions, but it gets old. Yes, players should police the game a little bit . . . but ZOS should police the game A LOT!! I'm calling you out and calling you lazy or uncaring. Prove me wrong, please prove me wrong! Or at least tell the players what the barriers are to getting rid of these bots!*

*Theory: GMs are running the bots and don't want there gravy train to stop!

    I have considered this.

There are a couple of account names that have been running at Percolating Mire since I first saw them on August 13, 2017. I reported them in October (171014-001797, 171014-001918), and again in November, and they were still there on Wednesday.

I don't see how ZOS cannot see this activity as violating the terms of service. No human being is going to be there almost every day, all day, for six months running the exact same pattern. I guess they are within the rules, though.

In any case, these two are the bots that broke me. I stopped reporting bots entirely because they are apparently within the bounds of the ToS. Someone has the theory that only the bots associated with gold sellers are being banned. I have no way to tell whether a bot I see in the game is a gold seller or not. I don't want to report innocent players that are just botting within the ToS, and are not gold sellers.

ZOS are you listening to our complaints, can we get some feedback? How fair is it to the players who are the REAL farmers and crafters to have to compete with bots? I was farming nodes on Betnikh for a few weeks and bots were farming half the nodes and it really hurt my ability to farm. How did I know they were bots? We'll I tried talking to them . . . No response . . . I observed their behavior, oh yeah, and they were Templars spamming jabs all the time

Every time I zone into Grahtwood and have ht zone chat on, there are people complaining about bots. It does wonders for my enjoyment of the game, lemme tell you. :/

There are sidequests I no longer do because I dread seeing bots, and Silverhoof is one of them. I actually like that quest--the first time I did it I loved how it carried over characters you met in Glenumbra and how it was a whole little community there by itself that helped give rivenspire its own character, But I won't do it now because I don't need the blood pressure spike that comes with seeing bots running unchecked.

Bots aren't just aesthetically awful and immersion breaking, they are having a big impact on the player community. It's bad for community morale, it's hurting the player economy (at least fro honest players), it's an exploit for leveling (people use bots or pay to add their toon to a bot train to level them up without playing), and oh yeah, that cipher that's suppose to be rare isn't so rare anymore if you know people who run these bots (or run bots yourself), so stop paying out the nose for the mythic atherial ambrosia--this is a effing joke now.

I ran into this while getting skyshards on a couple of new toons... there was a herd (flock?) of bots in several zones that I ran across. They were so tightly packed, I couldn't even attempt to report them.

So... of the 10 millions stories, about 1 million are bots!

Yep. Bots are definitely affecting peoples gameplay and enjoyment. I am a crafter and farmer. Trying to gather my own resources lately is becoming extremely frustrating with all the Bot farmers out there. If ZOS can't get a handle on it and take it seriously, it will start affecting subscriptions and they will lose customers.

Right, all of the bots present are extremely unfair to players. ZOS ask yourself who do you value more REAL PEOPLE playing or BOTs . . . REAL PEOPLE playing or BOTs . . . REAL PEOPLE playing or BOTs . . . REAL PEOPLE playing or BOTs . . . REAL PEOPLE playing or BOTs

Please don't make the argument that people using Botting software are still REAL PEOPLE, yes, they are, but they are scum

this bot problem is what made me cancel my ESO+ subscription. it will run out in a couple of weeks and that's it for me. and it's simply because i see the same bots at the same spots and although i (did, not any more, a waste of time and effort) report them they are still there even after several weeks of reporting. like this guy (gal?) -

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwB8R_rSvU8

i first met this fellow weeks ago, when he/she was around cp70. now he/she is over 330 (or more). i tried to fill a report every day to no avail. he/she is still happily botting at Myrkwasa dolmen by casting heals through a rock (thus can't be killed by mobs). and those trains as well. it's ridiculous. and it would only take 1 gamemaster to visit those spots every now-and-then to get rid of bots and bot trains and we (players) would be happy.

i love this game to bits, but no more spending money for me, thank you very much..

i left the game not to long after release because the bots were like roaches. i came back a week ago. i do notice bots node harvesting in some starting zones. i've followed them on their routes.... as they approach a node i'll sprint to get ahead and take the node. i've done that through whole routes. they just stay on route, 100% bots.
seems from the comments on similar threads that zos is pretty slow to deal with bots. i played one game years ago where gm's would hop on zone chat and ask for bot locations then go zap them. that thinned the herd. i also like the idea of open season where after a bot gets reported enough a gm will flag them for pvp  .
the real solution is to ban players that buy gold. but that takes a lot of effort.....

What is there to be afraid of? you don't lose gear/stats/points/gold/notoriety or anything else besides travel time to get where you were going anyway if someone kills you.

There could be a way to have open world PvP and make it work.

EX. your only worth AP points if you say joined the Pact/DC/AD Militia in a sense, such as the fighters guild or something and killing someone who is also a rival member.

Ex. Killing someone who is not part of the said militia is a perma bounty and cant enter town without being killed by a guard (if reported in your death screen) Make the bounty cost a lot and i mean substantially a lot ( like gold gear vendor) and increase per person you kill but can still get it cleared in the outlaws refuge like now (just not guards, they are kill on site). And with this can create a special town in each faction that there would be no guards and can use banks etc, just everything costs more. like cost money to use the bank, or prices for gear is way more expensive, etc.

EX. Group instances (trials, dailies, etc) not PvP, but open world dungeons are PvP. Same for major cities, no PvP.

In reality they could make it a free for all when you create a character and when you join said militia that character would have the crest above his head like Cyrodil. And make it where you cant change factions for 7 days or so, can make that account wide or character wide, don't care. Cant heal people in a militia if you are not in said militia etc.

Thought of this as I was typing so yea I am sure there are a lot holes, but it is not impossible.

I am sure this will get bashed completely, but just thinking outside the box for the game in general.

If you see bot trains, try to report as many in game as you can - there is no need for a thread on the forum - it there was a thread on the forum about every bot there wouldn't be room for any other discussion. Just report the bot(s) and move on.

Do you honestly think that anyone involved in the game actually looks at these threads? That they employ someone to rummage through the forums here to sort nonspecific complaints about costumes from bot reports? Because I don't, and if you do I think you're being ridiculous. Use in game reporting (for bots, use the exploit option when reporting), seriously, complaining about it here will do NOTHING

devs need to respond this. reasons?

i dont like it, overfarm and contol auction while we are looking for pelts and we use up fast with writs, when we hunt, we get nothing if there are no hunting mobs, and wait for spawns, and sudden they come out from nowhere and zap before i kill the wolves or furry creatures.

so many bots 'cornered' the resources and make overpriced for auction and destroy economy.

more resources they sells and longer they own auction vendors week after weeks, not allowing any smaller guilds a chance to sell and they cant sell except for chat and other players get angry for "spams" and shut them out.

only option, i know some dont like it, but if i was lead programmer, i would tear down auction house and redo as universal and be damn. force them to have to "Deal with it!" mode.

those guilds that control vendor are control by bots scripters. any associtated with harvest bots, gold bots would be stripped and ban since they all broke EULA and CoC agreements when they signed, and other player-made mod have to be approved by devs and programmers.

As I agree, that part sucks, but if it cost someone 250,000 AP points, or $250,000 gold to kill you because you did not join the faction militia, not to mention KOS by guards (so if you don't have the cash or AP you cant go to town etc on that toon until you do), I think it would enough of a deterrent.

As I said it was an Idea, not an end all be all you must agree with me suggestion, I am just saying there is probably a way to have both in open world and benefit everyone, since I cannot think of any games that make it benefit both, wouldn't it be something to look into, or at least give it a though.

Regardless the game was not made to be solely PvE, nor Solely PvP, just looking for a novel idea to try to do both.
