The new level up rewards

I was just reading the news article and I wondered if people who are already done leveling up would get all of the rewards that there are when the update drops. Would ZOS do that or would they make it strictly for people still leveling on their characters?

No. Already leveled characters get nothing

No, the rewards won't be retroactive. If you want them, you'll have to level up a brand new character after Update 17 goes live.

You need to start a new character and level them up from 1 to 50 to get the rewards. Yes it's annoying but most of us who already have a few vet characters can level a new character to 50 in 4 to 7 hours, faster if we're really trying.

Does it have to be a brand new character? I thought it was more that level 50 characters could have it because they are past it, not that they aren't new. I've got a toon parked just barely under level 18 so that I can get the free coffer the second I log in on the 12th.

You can get the rewards from that level on-wards on that character, just not the previous ones.

Existing characters will get the rewards for levels they reach after the update, but there are no retroactive rewards at all.

Which is why I haven't been playing my new Dragonknight. I made her just before this update was announced and she's been sitting at level 4 ever since (luckily there are no new rewards at level 2 and level 3 and 4 ones aren't anything special).

That's why my new NB is still sitting at level 1 on Firemoth Island

As above, it does not have to be new. If you have a low level mule holding stuff, level that one.

Of course I leveled up my most combat ready mule to L22 because I had Brew Bonus left on them (Crafter Collector). I have to use one of my Obese Mules (Stanley Storage or Mule McAllister or Pak Kat)

This, I have read this another place, however in the preview of the leveling rewards you could select one of four coffers.
If you owned two coffers you would only get the two reminding to choose between if you owned all you would not get any, same with the horse, if you own it you would not get it.

Unless this has changed in last PTS patch who nerfed warden cliff racer and changed synergy cool down back to 20 seconds but has not found any note about it in the patch notes.

In short can you only buy 3 coffers for writs, telvar or crowns?
Anybody on PTS can check this out. And yes its an pretty big downer and very pointless if they did.

Well, you don't need the PTS installed to check the PTS forums

But to answer your question, you don't get a selection of 4 storage coffers from level up rewards. It's only one specific coffer you can get (space for 30 items). If you already have it, you won't get another one for the next character you level up.

The other 7 coffers / chests (4 with 60 item slots, 3 with 30 item slots) can be purchased for telvar, writ vouchers or crowns.

It is confirmed in the Feb Crown Store Showcase that there are 4 60 slot containers that you can buy, and only 3 30 slot containers. The 4th 30 slot container is the lvl 18 leveling reward. There has never been a choice of coffers for the lvl 18 reward (I tested this day 1 of the update going on the PTS), but they have subsequently removed the one that you can get for free from the writ voucher vendor, to prevent people buying it by mistake and missing out on the leveling reward as a result.

Ok then they have changed it for the worse since I saw an preview of the rewards. Then they clearly showed: select one of four coffers so I assumed you would not be able to select the one you had same as you don't get horse if you have it.

And yes it was an stupid change, totally pointless, nobody gone buy an new character slot for the 30 storage anyway.
Probably more would buy it for crowns.

Actually its a bad game design and/or laziness. Technically its not a problem to run the sequence of popping up levelup screens when log in with previously created character, makes sence too

Just get over with it - Make 2 button's: 1.New character & 2.Become max level. (Get full equipment)
