Been away for 3.5 weeks - Asking for disc??

Not sure where to put this:

Are we in 1999?

ESO would not load up until a scoured my place for the disc. And turns out the disc was already inside my Xbox 360!!! I just needed to open and close it?!?!?! JFC.... I'm seriously stunned by the sheer audacity to try to rip me off of my account when I had only been away for only 3.5 weeks. BTW, no problem whatsoever of debiting my bank account for the monthly sub.

I gotta say, this really raised some red flags in my mind. Why is ESO asking for a disc in 2018? Surely, the fact that I sign into an xbox account means something? If not... why do I bother paying $5 bucks a month to connect to the internet that I pay $60 dollars a month for? Why do you even keep records of said account? Oh right... to charge my debit account, but ignore the fact that I own the GD game?

If I would not have been able to find a disc... then what? Never in my 19 years of playing MMOs have I been asked for a disc. Signing into the account should prove I own a copy...

and THIS is the number one reason I don't own a console. They ALWAYS require the CD/DVD in the drive to play the games.

On PC, I can swap games all day long and the CD (if I even purchased a physical copy) sits gathering dust in my drawer.

Finicky details....but there's usually a digital purchase option. In those cases, consoles don't ALWAYS require the CD/DVD.

I brought the original ESO on physical disc, and then a while post release, I brought the digital version of Morrowind. Now the disc is gathering dust in my garage.
