Has Zos given up on fixing pvp lag or is there a plan?

Suggestion: After DB is released and stable, let the devs make bigger changes than baby steps on the PTS; no doubt they have a few in mind already. Have a "kill the PTS" test night and specifically invite all the major PVP guilds, and other players are welcome as well.

Players want this fixed, too, and know how to replicate laggy conditions. Let us help.

That's the plan! Specifically the part about killing the PTS; we will have an event in Cyrodiil once Dark Brotherhood is available where we plan on testing some of the upcoming fixes and changes to gather additional metrics and feedback. Stay tuned...

That sounds pretty fun! I might have to dust off my PC copy for that. Wish we could log in to PTS from console though!

I know how to kill the PTS. Just stack everyone in one place. That is what happens on the live server.

I'm sure the supporting attitudes they encounter on the forums will motivate them to continue their efforts to improve the performance for their customers.

Companies are motivated by money, not consumers feelings.

And yet they constantly add things said consumers feel they need and asked for.

Obviously the comment was regarding consumers emotional feelings. And the things consumers feel they needed has generated money for the company due to supply and demand. So what is your point? If they really cared about our supporting attitudes, they would apologize about never adding in the features they promised over a year ago.

Whatever reason they had to scrap those features is from a business standpoint. No business in the world can cater to its consumers 100% or they'd probably go out of business.

Oh, so now you are saying the reason that Zenimax does not care to apologize about hurting the "consumers feelings" is because it is from a business standpoint (which has to due to with money?) Weird, I thought that was what my OP was about? Damn you flip fast.

You assume the business takes no heed on the players' emotions. That is what is incorrect. It may not be as visible on a forum but streamers can get the message through. Does Zenimax ignore the streamers? No, they do not. That means their feelings are not ignored. However, they still have to do what is best from a business perspective so just because one or two things were dropped despite emotions does not mean said emotions are ignored. That is just the excuse everyone likes to use to say "Zenimax sucks".

    wow.

I have been playing online games since the early days of Air Warrior, when it was a DOS game. We played WWII fighter combat. Fast moving ever changing positions, vectors, altitudes, speed. We did this on 9600 baud dialup modems. LAG is the time it takes a signal to go from you to the server and back again. We regularly played with lag in the 300s with little problem, with enemies changing positions vis -a vis the players point of view MUCH quicker than in ESO.

I have rarely seen Lag in ESO higher than 250.

Frame Rate is NOT lag. Frame Rate is only effected by what is moving on YOUR system. Frame Rate has nothing to do with the time it takes your signal to go from you to the server and back.

ESO's goal in Beta was to have 250 players visible on screen fighting at one time without sacrificing frame rate. That is HUGE. Personally prior to the Mega Servers ZOS is runnin I rarely so more than 50. Still MOST of any frame rate problem is simply too much for your graphics setup to handle.

For me, when I do PvP I am required to reduce graphic detail and visible range to get a good frame rate. But, again, frame rate is not lag.

knowing this I find this whole thread just weird. Some people seem confused on this.

Especially since this is a 2 year old thread, that was along round trip to the server!
